Abstract

Suriye, Arap Milliyetçiliği, Baas Partisi, Hafız Esad ÖZET SURİYE’DE TOPLUMSAL DÖNÜŞÜM VE ARAP MİLLİYETÇİLİĞİ’NİN GELİŞİMİ Orta Doğu, siyasi, iktisadi ve toplumsal olarak dünyanın en sorunlu bölgelerinden biridir. Bu nedenle, en azından yüzyıllık bir süreçte bu bölge alan araştırmacıları için ilgi çekici bir konu olagelmiştir. Bununla birlikte, toplumsal tarihe gerekli önem verilmediği için bazı önemli noktalar akademisyenler tarafından gözden kaçırılmıştır. Bu özellikle de Arap milliyetçiliği ile alakalı akademik çalışmalar için doğrudur. Birçok akademisyen Arap milliyetçiliğinin ortaya çıkışını bölgenin kendine has özelliklerine rağmen Batı tarihi kavram ve sonuçlarıyla değerlendirmiştir. Bu nedenle hem bölge tarihini hem de günümüz siyasetini anlama gayretlerinde birtakım çıkmazlar ortaya çıkmıştır. THE TRANSFORMATION OF SOCIETY AND THE EVOLUTION OF THE ARAB NATIONALISM IN SYRIA The Middle East is politically, economically, and socially one of the most problematic regions of the world. Thus, at least for a century this region has been an attractive subject for many area researchers. Nevertheless, some extremely important points have been missed out by academicians in the field owing to lack of emphasis for the social history. This is especially true for the academic studies about the Arab nationalism. Many academicians have considered the emergence of Arab nationalism under the results and concepts of Western history in spite of the unique characteristics of the region. Therefore, many dead spaces have occurred both in efforts to understand the region history and present-day politics. This study is an attempt to reevaluate the Arab nationalism in Syria from the emergence of it to the end of Hafez al-Asad era.
