Bir semtin soylulaştır(ıl)ma süreci: Balat’ın gündelik hayatı

Abstract

Bu tez çalışması; 20. yüzyılın ikinci yarısından itibaren, kentsel alanlarda gözlemlenen mekânsal ve sosyal değişimleri açıklamaya çalışan soylulaştırma (gentrification) sürecini, Balat Mahallesi odağında, nitel araştırma yöntemi ile elde edilen verilere dayanarak gündelik hayat perspektifinden analiz etmektedir. Geleneksel ve yaygın anlamı ile soylulaştırma; çoğunlukla kent merkezlerinde yer alan, tarihi ve estetik değeri olan konut alanlarının bulunduğu bölgelerde sosyal sınıfın, mekânsal ve mülkiyet yapılarının değişmesi ile gerçekleşen bir yer değiştirme sürecidir.

This thesis is going to analyze the gentrification period which aims to explain spatial and socail change observed in urban areas since the second half of 20 century by using daily life perspectives in Balat based on the qualitative methods. The conventional and common meaning of gentrification is a removing process of social calss in places which has residences with historical and esthetic value especially in urban aeras.
