Publication: Sürdürülebilir liflerden liyosel ve organik pamuğun tekstilde kullanımı ve pazar araştırması
Abstract
Endüstri devrimi ile ortaya çıkan seri üretim ve tüketim anlayışı, hızlı nüfus artışı, doğal kaynakların tüketilmesi, çevre kirliliğinin artması ve buna bağlı olarak ekolojik dengenin tahrip edilmesi sorunlarına çözüm olarak sürdürülebilirlik kavramı ortaya çıkmıştır. Bu tez çalışması, çoğunlukla seri üretim ve tüketim temeline dayanan tekstil sektöründe yapılan sürdürülebilirlik uygulamaları anlatılarak, organik pamuk ve liyosel kullanımının sürdürülebilir kalkınma hedeflerine ulaşmada nasıl bir öneme sahip olduğu ve pazar payları üzerine araştırma yapmak amacıyla yazılmıştır.Altı bölümden oluşan tezin birinci bölümünde, seçilen konunun kapsamı, amacı ve gerekliliği hakkında bilgiler verilmiştir.Ikinci bölümde, sürdürülebilirlik kavramının ortaya çıkışı, önemi ve gerekliliği üzerinde durulmuş, sürdürülebilir kalkınma hedefleri ve sürdürülebilir kalkınma göstergeleri anlatılmıştır. Bölümün devamında, moda ve tekstil sektöründeki sürdürülebilirlik yaklaşımları hakkında bilgi verilerek, tekstil sektöründe yer alan tasarımcıların ve şirketlerin uyguladığı sürdürülebilirlik faaliyetleri incelenmiştir.Araştırmanın üçüncü bölümünde, sürdürülebilir liflerden biri olan organik pamuk, organik tarım, üretim yerleri ve yapılan çalışmalar anlatılmış, organik pamuk lifiiüretim aşamaları, organik pamuk türleri, lif özellikleri hakkında bilgi verilmiş ve sürdürülebilirlik açısından incelenmiştir. Bu bağlamda sürdürülebilir kalkınma hedeflerine ulaşmada organik pamuğun önemi ve yaşam döngüsü değerlendirmesi konuları üzerine araştırma yapılmıştır.Dördüncü bölümde, bir diğer sürdürülebilir liflerden olan liyosel lifinin geliştirilmesi, üretim aşamaları, özelleri ve geliştirilmiş diğer liyosel lifleri hakkında bilgi verilmiştir. Ardından sürdürülebilirlik açısından liyosel lifi incelenmiş ve sürdürülebilir kalkınma hedeflerine ulaşmadaki öneminden bahsedilerek yaşam döngüsü değerlendirmesi yapılmıştır.Beşinci bölümde ise, sertifikasyon ve ekolojik etiketler hakkında bilgi verilmiş ve en yaygın kullanılan on iki tane ekolojik etiketin veriliş amacı ve önemi anlatılmıştır.Altıncı bölümde, küresel elyaf üretiminin yıllar içinde yaşadığı değişim incelenerek, organik pamuk ve liyosel liflerinin pazar payı araştırılmış ve kullanım alanları ve ürün grupları hakkında bilgiler verilmiştir.Sonuç bölümünde ise, yapılan araştırmalar sonucunda elde edilen bilgilere göre, sürdürülebilirlik kavramının her alanda olduğu gibi tekstil sektöründe de uygulanmasının, dünyanın ve üzerinde yaşayan canlıların varlığının devamlılığı için öneminden bahsedilmiştir.
The concept of sustainability has emerged as a solution to the problems of mass production and consumption that emerged with the industrial revolution, rapid population growth, consumption of natural resources, increase in environmental pollution and accordingly the destruction of ecological balance. In this thesis, it was written to explain the sustainability practices in the textile sector which is mostly based on mass production and consumption, and to conduct research on the importance of organic cotton and lyocell use in achieving sustainable development goals and their market shares.In the first part of the thesis, which consists of six chapters, information about the scope, purpose and necessity of the selected topic is given.In the second part, the emergence, importance and necessity of the concept of sustainability are emphasized, sustainable development goals and sustainable development indicators are explained. In the continuation of the section, information about sustainability approaches in the fashion and textile sector is given and the sustainability activities of designers and companies in the textile sector are examined.ivIn the third part of the research, organic cotton, which is one of the sustainable fibers, organic agriculture, production sites and studies are explained, information about organic cotton fiber production stages, organic cotton types, fiber properties are given and examined in terms of sustainability. In this context, research has been conducted on the importance of organic cotton in achieving sustainable development goals and its life cycle assessment.In the fourth chapter, information about the development, production stages, specialties and other developed lyocell fibers of lyocell fiber, which is another sustainable fiber, is given. Then, lyocell fiber was examined in terms of sustainability and its importance in achieving sustainable development goals was mentioned and a life cycle assessment was made.In the fifth chapter, information about certification and ecological labels is given and the purpose and importance of twelve most widely used ecological labels are explained.In the sixth chapter, the change in global fiber production over the years has been examined, the market share of organic cotton and lyocell fibers has been researched, and information has been given about the usage areas and product groups.In the conclusion part, according to the information obtained as a result of the researches, the importance of the application of the concept of sustainability in the textile sector, as in every field, for the continuity of the existence of the world and the living things is mentioned.
