Publication: Post-truth ve medyada gerçeklik
Abstract
Bu çalışmada; Pos-Truth kavramından yola çıkılarak, medyanın gerçekliği inşa süreci ve içsel kanaatlerin birer gerçeklik haline geldiği günümüz toplumu, medya kültürü ekseninde incelenmiştir. Bireylerin kamusal yaşamdaki aktif rollerini yitirmesiyle birlikte, kendisini ifade etme iradesini de terk etmesi ve duygularıyla yönetilebilen birer izleyici haline gelmeleri değerlendirilmiştir. Bu dönüşümden yola çıkarak, birey ve toplumun sahip olduğu gerçekliği yitirme süreci ortaya konulurken, medya teknolojilerinin bu gerçekliğin dönüşümdeki etkileri ve toplumsal yaşam içerisine nasıl enjekte edildiği tartışılmıştır. Çalışmada; birey, gerçeklik ve kamusal alan tartışmalarının zemininin oluşturulması, post-truth toplumun ortaya çıkmasının nedenlerini daha net ortaya koyabilmek için incelenmiştir. Bubağlamda bu çalışmada; geleneksel ve yeni medya’nın, gerçekliğin önemini yitirmesindeki rolü ve etkileri tartışılmıştır. Çalışmanın son bölümünde, post-truth tartışmalarına yönelik en güncel örneklerden biri olan Alt-right hareketi incelenmiştir.Kamusal alanda bir varlığı söz konusu olmayan, sadece çevrimiçi bir hareket olan altright, öncelikle kavramsal, tarihsel ve ideolojik olarak değerlendirilmiştir. Alt-right’ın yapısal olarak incelenmesinin ardından, medya’da ortaya çıkan Alt-Right yansımalarının örneği olarak, 2016 ABD Başkanlık seçimleri ve 2017 Fransa seçimleriincelenmiştir.
In this study; based on the concept of post-truth, today's society, in which the process of constructing the reality of the media and the internal beliefs have become a reality, has been examined in the sense of media culture,. With the lost of the active role in public life, individuals have left their will to express themselves andassessed to become audiences that can be manipulated with emotion. On the basis of this transformation, while revealing the process of the lost of reality that individuals and society have, the transformative effects of media technologies and the way of their injecting into the social life have also been discussed. In this study, the basis of individual, reality, and public space debates have been scrutinized to clarify the reasonsfor the emergence of post-truth society. In this context, the role and effects of traditional media on the lost of the significance of reality, are discussed. In the last part of the study, the Alt-right movement, one of the most recent examples of post-truth debates, has been examined. The sub-right, which doesn’t exist in a public space but is an online act, has primarily been approached conceptual, historical and ideological. Following a structural review of the sub-right, the 2016 US presidential elections and the 2017 French elections have been examined as examples of Sub-Right reflections on the media.
