Publication: The effect of green transformational leadership on employees’ green behavior and organizational green performance : the serial mediating role of green organizational climate perception and green mindfulness
Abstract
Bu çalışmanın amacı, yeşil dönüşümcü liderlik özelliklerine sahip liderlerin, çalışanların çevresel davranışları ve örgütlerinin üretim ve hizmet süreçlerinin olumsuz çevresel etkilerini azaltma performansları üzerindeki etkisini incelemektir. Aynı zamanda çalışanların yeşil örgüt iklimi ve yeşil farkındalığa ilişkin algılarının bu bağlamdaki seri aracılık rolünün incelenmesi amaçlanmaktadır. Çalışmaya 297 beyaz yakalı çalışan katılmıştır. Mevcut literatür incelendiğinde, bu modele ilişkin daha önce yapılmış bir araştırmaya rastlanmamıştır. Bu çalışma sayesinde çalışanların çevreye yönelik davranışları ve organizasyonun çevresel performansı incelenerek hem bireysel hem de organizasyonel düzeyde analiz yapılmış olunacaktır. Veri toplama araçları olarak demografik bilgi formu, yeşil dönüşümcü liderlik ölçeği, yeşil bilinçli farkındalık ölçeği, yeşil organizasyonel iklim algısı ölçeği, çalışanların yeşil davranış ölçeği ve organizasyonel yeşil performans ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Veri analizi aşamasında SPSS Statistics 27 paket Process Macro eklentisi ve R programlama dili kullanılmıştır. Hipotezlerin analizi sırasında Hayes'in 6. Modeli ve R ile yazılan kodlar kullanılmıştır. Analiz sonuçlarına göre, yeşil dönüşümsel liderlik, çalışanların yeşil davranışlarına ve organizasyonel yeşil performansa istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir katkı sağlamaktadır. Ayrıca, yeşil organizasyonel iklim algısı ve yeşil bilinçli farkındalık, yeşil dönüşümsel liderlik ile çalışanların yeşil davranışları arasındaki ilişkide seri aracılık rolü oynamaktadır. Ancak, yeşil organizasyonel iklim algısı ve yeşil bilinçli farkındalık, yeşil dönüşümsel liderlik ile yeşil organizasyonel performans arasındaki ilişkide seri aracılık rolü oynamamaktadır.
This study aims to investigate the impact of leaders having green transformational leadership features on employees' environmental behaviors and their performance in reducing the negative environmental impacts of their organizations' production and service processes. This research aims to examine the serial mediating role of employees’ perceives of green organizational climate and green mindfulness in this connection. 297 white-collar employees participated in the study. After reviewing the existing literature, it becomes evident that there is a lack of prior research on this model. This study makes a significant contribution by examining environmental behaviors both at the individual and organizational levels. A total of 297 white-collar employees took part in the study. Demographic information form, green transformational leadership scale, green mindfulness scale, green organizational climate scale, employees’ green behavior scale and organizational green performance scale were used as data collection tools. The data analysis phase utilized the SPSS Statistics 27, SPSS package program along with the Process Macro add-on, and R programming language. The analysis utilized Hayes' 6th model for the purpose of hypothesis testing. Also, code script written in R was used during the analysis. According to the analysis results, green transformational leadership has a statistically significant contribution to employees' green behavior and organizational green performance. In addition, green organizational climate perception and green mindfulness play a serial mediating role in the relationship between green transformational leadership and employees' green behavior. However, green organizational climate perception and green mindfulness do not have a serial mediating role in the relationship between green transformational leadership and organizational green performance.
