Coğrafi bilgi sistemleriyle oluşturulan tematik haritaların ortaöğretim 10. sınıf coğrafya dersinde kullanımı

Abstract

Bu çalışma, ortaöğretim onuncu sınıf coğrafya dersinde coğrafi bilgi sistemleri ile oluşturulan tematik haritalardan yararlanmanın öğrencinin başarısına etkisini incelemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Araştırmada nicel yöntemden yararlanılmıştır. Bu çalışma ortaöğretim onuncu sınıf öğrencileri ile yürütülmüştür. Araştırmanın nicel verileri ön test ve son test uygulanarak elde edilmiştir. Son testten sonra öğrencilerin uygulama hakkındaki görüşleri anket formu yardımıyla elde edilmiştir. Verilerin analizinde istatistiki süreçler takip edilmiştir. Coğrafi bilgi sistemleri ile oluşturulan tematik haritalardan yararlanmanın öğrencinin başarısına etkisinin değerlendirilmesinde eşleştirilmiş örneklem t testi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın nicel verilerinden elde edilen sonuçları şunlardır: Coğrafi bilgi sistemleri ile oluşturulan tematik haritalar ile Türkiye’nin konumunun, istatistiksel nüfus değerlerinin, sıcaklık değerlerinin, ikliminin doğal bölgelere göre dağılışının ve bitki örtüsünün doğal bölgelere göre dağılışının öğretiminde ön test ve son test arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir fark bulunmuştur. This study aims to examine how thematic maps created with geographic information systems effect the success of tenth grade students. Quantitative research method utilized in this research. This study was conducted with tenth grade students. Quantitative data of the study obtained by carrying out pre and post-test. A survey conducted to determine the opinions of the students about the exercise and thematic maps. In data analysis, statistical procedures have been followed. Paired sample t test was used to evaluate how thematic maps created with geographic information systems effect success of tenth grade students. The results of the quantitative data are as follows: Using thematic maps created with geographic information systems differed from the pre and post-test results while teaching Turkey’s location, population statistics, temperature statistics, distribution of climates and distribution of vegetation according to natural regions.
