Publication: Türkiye ve Azerbaycan Türkçelerindeki tümce biçimli deyimler ve bunların anlam bilgisel ve söz dizimsel karşılaştırılması
Abstract
Idioms are groups of words that are used as metaphors other than their real meanings and come together to make the utterance simpler and more impressive. Idioms are phrases that are frequently used, sometimes through verbal communication and sometimes through written communication. They add fluency and richness to the narrative. In this study, idioms in the form of sentences in Turkey and Azerbaijan Turkish were determined and these idioms were analyzed in terms of syntactic and semantic and compared in both written languages. When we look at the dictionaries of idioms in Turkey and Azerbaijan Turkish, it is seen that there are a large number of phrases in the form of sentences. While examining idioms in this sentence form, their syntactic features were determined and then their equivalents in terms of meaning were revealed. After comparing the syntactic number values of the idioms in the form of sentences in Turkey Turkish and Azerbaijani Turkish, the idioms in these two written languages were examined with their syntactic and semantic aspects. In the thesis, idioms in the form of sentences in both written languages were determined from various dictionaries and they were compared syntactically and semantically. The study consists of 1. “Syntactic Comparison”, 2 “Semantic Comparison” and 3 “Sentence Idioms List” sections. With these aspects, the study is the first syntactic and semantic comparison of sentence-shaped idioms in Turkey and Azerbaijan Turkish, but it will set an example for similar studies to be done.
