Sanayi müzelerinin tarih öğretiminde kullanım durumu: Rahmi M. Koç Müzesi Örneği

Abstract

Bu araştırma, Hayat Bilgisi, Sosyal Bilgiler ve Tarih derslerindeki Sanayi Devrimi ve Bilimsel-Teknolojik Gelişim ile ilgili ünitelerin kazanımlarının, sanayi temalı sergilemelere sahip olan Rahmi M. Koç Müzesi koleksiyonundan yararlanarak daha iyi öğretilebileceğini ortaya koymayı amaçlamıştır. Koleksiyondan seçilen dört objenin, disiplinlerarası yaklaşım çerçevesi içerisinde, drama, tarihsel empati, işbirlikli öğrenme gibi bir takım öğretim tekniklerinin kullanıldığı örnek çalışmalarla incelenmesi sonucu, hedeflenen ünite kazanımlarının gerçekleştirilmesi sağlanmıştır. Müzede yapılan bu çalışmalardan elde edilen video görüntüleri, transkiptleri ve öğrencilere uygulanan etkinlik sayfaları araştırmanın verilerini oluşturmaktadır. Bu veriler, nitel araştırma tekniklerinden doküman analizi ve ikonografik analiz tekniklerine uygun olarak yapılandırılmıştır. Müzede gerçekleştirilen çalışmalar, müzede işlenen ders ortamı ve materyallerinin analizi (kullanılan kaynaklar, mekanın değerlendirilmesi, kullanılan öğretim teknikleri), ders sürecinin analizi ve etkinlik sürecinin analizi başlıkları altında değerlendirilmiştir. Bu bağlamda ders sürecinin ve materyallerin analizinde, betimsel analiz yöntemi, çalışmanın ve kullanılan öğretim tekniklerinin analizinde, içerik analizi yöntemi, etkinlik sürecinin analizinde ise ikonografik analiz yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda; Rahmi M. Koç Müzesi koleksiyonundan seçilen dört objenin (Kadıköy-Moda Tramvayı, Zeytinyağı Fabrikası, Penny-farthing Bisikleti, Teleskop) incelendiği örnek çalışmaların, hedeflenen kazanımların öğrenilmesine ve öğrencilerde tarihsel düşünme ve imgelem becerilerinin gelişmesine katkı sağladığı bulgulanmıştır.

This research aims to put forward that the acquisitions of the courses such as Science of Life, Social Studies and the units concerning The Industrial Revolution and scientific-technologic progress can be better taught by benefiting from the industry themed exhibitions of Rahmi M. Koç Museum collection. By examining the four objects choosen from the collection in case studies in which a set of teaching methods varying from drama, historical empathy, collaborative learning are used within the context of interdisciplinary approach, the targeted unit acquisitions are achieved. Task sheets carried out with the students, video images and transcripts acquired from these studies at the museum compose the data of the research. These data are configured in accordance with iconographic analysis methods and document analysis - one of the qualitative analyses. The studies performed at the museum are examined under the classroom environment and analysis of the materials (materials used, assessment of the environment, teaching methods used), the analysis of course process and the analysis of task process headings. Concordantly, in the analysis of the course process and materials, descriptive analysis; in the analysis of the study and the teaching methods used, content analysis; in the analysis of task process, iconographic analysis methods are used. In consequence of the research, case studies - in which four objects choosen out of the Rahmi M. Koç Museum collection (Kadıköy-Moda Tramway, Olive Oil Factory, Penny Farthing Bicycle, Telescope) are examined - have been discovered to contribute to the ascertaining of the targeted acquisitions and to the improvement of the students’ historical thinking and imagery capabilities.
