Osmanlı saray teşkilatında Bâbüssaâde ağalığı (16. ve 17. yüzyıllar)

Abstract

Osmanlı saray teşkilatında Bâbüssaâde ağalığı (16. ve 17. yüzyıllar) Giriş ve üç bölümden oluşan bu çalışmada 16. ve 17. yüzyıllarda Osmanlı saray teşkilatı içerisinde önemli bir konuma sahip olan Bâbüssaâde Ağalığı incelenmiştir. Giriş bölümünde Osmanlı’nın çağdaşı olan devletlerle kendisinden önceki Türk-İslam devletlerinde Bâbüssaâde Ağası ile benzer vazifeleri yerine getiren görevliler ortaya çıkarılmaya çalışılmıştır. Birinci bölümde, Bâbüssaâde Ağalığının kuruluşu ve gelişimi incelenerek Bâbüssaâde’nin mekânsal analizi yapıldıktan sonra Bâbüssaâde’nin sağında ve solunda yaşayan Büyük Oda ve Küçük Oda gulamlarıyla Kapı ağalarının yaşam alanları tetkik edilmiş ve Bâbüssaâde ağalarının yetişmesi, görev alanları, kıyafetleri ile padişah sarayı dışında paşaların ve hanedan üyelerinin saraylarındaki Kapı Ağalığı hizmeti ele alınmıştır. İkinci bölümde Bâbüssaâde Ağası’nın idari ve teşrifati görevleri üzerinde durulmuştur. Saraydaki idari vazifeleri, Harem ve Enderun’daki yetkilerini kaybediş süreci, diğer saraylardaki vazifeleri, vakıf sorumluluğu ve Bâbüssaâde Ağası ile maiyetindeki Kapı ağalarının teşrifattaki yerleri ve görevleri izah edilmiştir. Üçüncü bölümde ise Bâbüssaâde Ağası’nın yaşamı, devlet kademelerindeki nüfuzu, siyasetteki etkisi, Bâbüssaâde Ağası ile maiyetindeki Kapı ağalarının gelirleri incelenmiş, 16. ve 17. yüzyıllarda Bâbüssaâde Ağalığı makamında bulunan hayır sahibi kişilerin vakıfları ele alınmıştır.

Bâbüssaâde agha in the Ottoman palace organization (16th and 17th centuries) In this study, which consists of an introduction and three chapters, the Bâbüssaâde Agha, which held an important position in the Ottoman palace organisation in the 16th and 17th centuries, is analysed. In the introductory chapter, it is tried to reveal the officials who performed similar duties with the Bâbüssaâde Agha in the contemporary states of the Ottoman Empire and the previous Turkish-Islamic states. In the first chapter, the establishment and development of the Bâbüssaâde Agha are examined, followed by a spatial analysis of the Bâbüssaâde. Subsequently, the living quarters of the Büyük Oda (Great Chamber) and Küçük Oda (Small Chamber) ghulams, as well as those of the Kapı Aghas residing on the right and left sides of the Bâbüssaâde, are analyzed. The chapter also discusses the training, duties, and attire of the Bâbüssaâde Aghas, together with the service of the Kapı Aghas employed in the palaces of pashas and members of the imperial family outside the sultan’s palace. The second chapter emphasizes the administrative and ceremonial duties of the Bâbüssaâde Agha. The administrative roles in the palace, the process of losing his powers in the Harem and Enderun, duties in other palaces, responsibilities over foundations (vakıfs), and the ceremonial place and duties of the Bâbüssaâde Agha and the Kapı Aghas serving under his command are explained. The third chapter analyses the personal life of the Bâbüssaâde Agha, his influence within the state, his role in politics, the incomes of the Agha of Bâbüssaâde and the Kapı Aghas in his entourage, and the foundations of the benefactors who held the position of Bâbüssaâde Agha in the 16th and 17th centuries.
