Abstract

Bu çalışmada Uşak halılarının tarihsel süreci ile birlikte, 16. ve 17. yüzyıl Uşak halılarında sarı renk kullanımının nedenlerine tarihsel, kültürel ve kavramsal özelliklerle vurgu yapılmaya çalışılmıştır. 16. ve 17. yüzyıl Uşak halılarında kullanılan sarı rengin Türk kültüründeki önemi ve bu rengin 16. ve 17. yüzyıl Uşak halılarında kullanımı, kompozisyonlardaki etkisi anlatılmıştır. Sarı rengin elde edildiği bitkiler, sarı rengin çeşitleri, kullanım alanlarıyla ilgili bilgi verilmiştir. Tezde; Türk ve İslam Eserleri Müzesi Kütüphanesinden yararlanılan 16. ve 17. yüzyıl Uşak halıları görselleri kullanılmıştır. Çalışmanın 1. bölümünde çalışmanın önemi, amacı vb. unsurları üzerinde durulmuştur. Çalışmanın 2. bölümünde rengin oluşumu, fiziksel, ruhsal ve simgesel tanımları, Türk kültürü ve mitolojisindeki önemi açıklanmaktadır. Çalışmanın 3. bölümünde sarı rengin elde edildiği bitkiler ve sarı boyar maddelerin neler olduğu anlatılmaktadır. 4. bölümde 16. ve 17. yüzyıl Uşak halılarında kullanılan sarı rengin önemi, görsellerle birlikte etüt edilmiştir. 5. bölümde tezin konusu ile ilgili genel bir değerlendirme yapılmıştır. 6. bölümde ise sonuç ve öneriler kısmı bulunmaktadır.

In this study, along with the historical process of Uşak carpets, the reasons for the use of yellow color in 16th and 17th century Uşak carpets have been tried to be emphasized with historical, cultural and conceptual features. The importance of the yellow color used in the 16th and 17th century Uşak carpets in Turkish culture and the use of this color in the 16th and 17th century Uşak carpets and its effect on the compositions are explained. Information about the plants from which the yellow color is obtained, the types of yellow color and its usage areas are given. In the thesis; Images of 16th and 17th century Uşak carpets, which were used in the Library of the Turkish and Islamic Arts Museum, were used. In the 1st part of the study, the importance of the study, its purpose, etc. elements are emphasized. In the second part of the study, the formation of color, its physical, spiritual and symbolic definitions, its importance in Turkish culture and mythology are explained. In the third part of the study, the plants from which the yellow color is obtained and the yellow dyestuffs are explained. In the 4th chapter, the importance of the yellow color used in the 16th and 17th century Uşak carpets has been studied together with the visuals. In the 5th chapter, a general evaluation has been made about the subject of the thesis. In the 6th chapter, there is the conclusion and recommendations part.
