Abstract
Modernleşme süreci, toplumların temel yapısını, kültürel kodlarını ve bireylerin günlük yaşam pratiklerini etkileyen küresel bir olgudur. Modernite seküler bir dünyanın anahtarı olarak görülmektedir. Gelenek, din ve modernite arasındaki gerilim ise bu noktada peydah olmuştur. Bu çalışmada, Türkiye özelinde gelenek, modernite ve din arasındaki gerilimin günümüzün en yaygın kitle iletişim araçlarından biri olan televizyon aracılığıyla nasıl yansıtıldığını incelemek hedeflenmiştir. Geleneksel değerlere sahip dindar aile ile modern, seküler ve laik değerlere sahip iki ailenin çatışmaları göstermiştir ki gerilimin temel sebebi iki tarafın birbirini tam olarak tanımamasıdır. Bu nedenle birbirlerinin değerlerine saygı duymayan bu iki grubun bir araya gelmesi ilk zamanlarda gerilim yaratsa da zamanla iki tarafın da yumuşamasıyla sonuçlanmıştır. Bu dizinin seçilmesinde asıl neden gelenek ve modern değerler arasındaki gerilimin din sacayağını da içine alarak işlenmesi olmuştur. Dizinin birinci sezonuna ait tüm bölümler izlenerek elde edilen veriler, içerik analizi yapılarak yorumlanmaya çalışılmıştır. Yapılan analiz ile elde edilen kavramlardan belirli kategori ve temalar elde edilmiştir. Temalar grafik haline getirilerek, konu ile alakalı olan kavramın geçtiği diyaloglar analiz edilmiştir.
The process of modernization is a global phenomenon that affects the fundamental structure of societies, their cultural codes, and the daily life practices of individuals. Modernity is seen as the key to a secular world. The tension between tradition, religion, and modernity emerges at this point. This study aims to examine how the tension between tradition, modernity, and religion is reflected through television, one of the most widespread means of mass communication today, specifically in the context of Turkey. The conflicts between a family with traditional religious values and between two families with modern, secular, and laic values have shown that the root cause of the tension is the lack of mutual understanding between the two sides. Initially, the coming together of these two groups, who do not respect each other's values, creates tension, but eventually leads to a softening on both sides over time. The main reason for choosing this series is its handling of the tension between traditional and modern values, incorporating the religious aspect as well. All episodes of the first season of the series have been watched, and the data obtained have been interpreted through content analysis. The concepts obtained from the analysis have been categorized into specific themes. These themes have been converted into graphical representations, and the dialogues related to the relevant concepts have been analyzed.
