Publication: Günümüz türk basınında gazeteciler bağlamında söyleşilerin nitel bir değerlendirmesi
Abstract
GÜNÜMÜZ TÜRK BASININDA GAZETECİLER BAĞLAMINDA SÖYLEŞİLERİN NİTEL BİR DEĞERLENDİRMESİ Gazetecilik faaliyetinin özünde bulunan soru sorma, önemli bir toplumsal yükümlülük taşıyan gazeteci açısından mesleğinin ayrılmaz bir parçasıdır. Gazeteciler kamunun merak ettiği ve/ veya kamunun bilmesi gerekenleri kamu adına soran kişilerdir. Soru sormanın en yaygın ve etkili alanı olarak kabul edebileceğimiz söyleşiler halkı aydınlatma, bilgilendirme ve bilinçlendirme açısından önemli bir işleve sahiptir. Gazetecilerin söyleşi konu ve konuk seçimleri, “kime, neyi, ne zaman, nerede, nasıl ve niçin” sorudukları toplumsal sorunları ortaya çıkarma, kamuoyu oluşturma, gündem belirleme, farklı düşüncedeki kişilerin seslerini duyurma ve söyleşilerde sunulan rol modelleri üzerinden kamuoyunu yönlendirme açısından etkili olmaktadır. Bu tez çalışmasında özellikle 1980 sonrası Türk basınında yaşanan sosyo-ekonomik değişimler sonrası dönüşen gazeteciliğin söyleşiler üzerindeki yansımaları incelenmiş ve söyleşilerde ele alınan konuların ve kişilerin Türkiye’nin en temel toplumsal sorunlarını yeterince yansıtmadığı ortaya çıkartılmıştır. Türk basınında söyleşi yapan gazeteciler ile yüz yüze derinlemesine mülakatlar yapılmış, onların görüşlerinden, deneyimlerinden ve yorumlarından faydalanma yoluna gidilerek, haber söyleşilerine dair içeriden bir bakış ile mevcut eğilimlerin, yaygın tutumların, düşük ya da yüksek düzeyde kaygı yaratan sorunların neler olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Çalışmada ayrıca soru sorma geleneğinin dünyada ve Türkiye’deki tarihsel gelişimi ele alınmış, söyleşi ve röportaj farkı netleştirilmiş ve etkili bir basın söyleşisi için gazetecinin dikkate alması gereken unsurlar söyleşi öncesi, söyleşi süreci ve söyleşi sonrası aşamaları halinde detaylandırılmış. Bu çalışma söyleşi üzerine iletişim standartlarını ortaya koyan kapsamlı ve özgün bir kaynak oluşturma amacını da taşımaktadır.
A QUALITATIVE ASSESSMENT OF INTERVIEWS IN THE FRAMEWORK OF JOURNALISTS IN THE TURKISH PRESS Asking questions, is the esence of journalism. It is a perfect tool for journalists who carry a major social responsibility. Journalists are those who ask about what the public wants to know and/ or ought to know on behalf of the public. The interviews, which can be accepted as the most widespread and effective area of asking questions, are significant as they enlighten and inform the public and create public awareness. In the interviews, the selection of topics and guests and the “to whom, what, when, where, how and why” questions have a major impact on bringing out the underlying social problems, forming public opinion, agenda-setting, voicing different opinions, and shaping public opinion through the role models projected in the interviews. In this Phd thesis, the journalism which has gone through a transformation after the socio-economic changes in the Turkish press in the post-1980 era and its impact on the interviews, has been assessed. It has been concluded that the topics and the interviewees do not reflect Turkey’s basic social problems in a sufficient manner. In-depth interviews have been conducted with journalists who themselves interview others. Their views, experience and comments have been received and an “insider’s view” has been adopted to determine the present trends, dominant tendencies and issues of low/ high concern. The thesis also takes a look at the historical development of the tradition of asking questions in the world and in Turkey. It clarifies the difference between “the interview” and “the reportage” and specifies in detail the isssues that the journalists should take into consideration before, during and after the interview. The thesis also aims to form a comprehensive and original reference that sets forth the communication standards of journalistic interviewing.
