Publication: Çocuk dergilerinde okuma kültürü ve kütüphane algısı: güncel dergiler üzerine bir inceleme
Abstract
Okuma kültürü birçok becerinin bir arada edinilmesini gerektiren bir süreçtir. Erken dönemlerde bu sürecin temelleri atılır. Bu becerinin kazanılmasında çocuk edebiyatı ürünlerinin etkisi oldukça önemlidir. Bu çalışma kapsamında çocuk edebiyatının ürünlerinden biri olan çocuk dergileri ele alınmıştır. Çocuk dergileri her bir sayıda farklı içeriklere yer vererek bir sonraki sayıda merak uyandırmasıyla çocukokurların dikkatini çekmektedir. Bu içeriklerde okuma kültürü ve kütüphane ögelerinin yer alması oldukça önemlidir. Bu çalışmanın amacı okuma kültürünün kazandırılmasında ve olumlu kütüphane algısının yerleştirilmesinde bir araç olarak çocuk dergilerinin yerini belirlemektir. Bu amaç çerçevesinde çalışma kapsamı 2022 yılında Türkiye’de yayımlanmış olan 32 güncel çocuk dergisi ile sınırlandırılmıştır. Belirlenen örneklem doküman analizi yöntemiyle incelenmiştir. Ayrıca bu çalışma ile Bilgi ve Belge Yönetimi alanında süreli yayınlar çalışmalarına katkı sağlamak amaçlanmaktadır. Birinci bölümde okuma kültürü ve kütüphane algısı kavramları ele alınmış ve çocuk dergileri ile ilişkisi irdelenmiştir. İkinci bölümde dünyada ve Türkiye’de çocuk dergilerinin tarihçesi ve durumu ortaya konulmuş, çalışma kapsamında incelenen çocuk dergileri hakkında bilgi verilmiştir. Üçüncü bölümde çalışma kapsamındaki dergiler bölümlerine, ele alınan temalara ve kullanılan görsellere göre okuma kültürü ve kütüphane algısı kazandırması bakımından değerlendirilmiştir.
Reading culture is a process that requires the acquisition of many skills together. The foundations of this process are laid in the early stages. The effect of children's literature products on the acquisition of this skill is very important. Within the scope of this study, children's magazines, which are one of the products of children's literature, were discussed. Children's magazines attract the attention of child readers by including different content in each issue and arousing curiosity in the next issue. It is very important to include reading culture and library elements in these contents. The aim of this study is to determine the quality of children's magazines as a tool in gaining reading culture and establishing the perception of the library. For this purpose, the scope of the study was limited to 32 current children's magazines published in Turkey in 2022. The determined sample was examined using the document analysis method. Inaddition, this study aims to contribute to periodical publications in the field of Information and Records Management. In the first chapter, the concept of reading culture and library perception is discussed and its relationship with children's magazines is examined. In the second chapter, the history and situation of children's magazines in the world and in Turkey are revealed and information is given about the children's magazines examined within the scope of the study. In the third section, the magazines within the scope of the study were evaluated in terms of reading culture and library perception elements according to their sections, themes and visuals used.
