Abstract

Tekstil Sektöründe Suriyeli Çocuk Emeği: İstanbul ÖrneğiGünümüzde dünyanın en önemli toplumsal sorunlarından biri olarak uluslararası göç, göçmenler ve göçmenlerin istihdamı pek çok çalışmaya konu olmakta ve araştırılmaya değer bulunmaktadır. Uluslararası göçün nedenleri, göçmen istihdamı, göçmenlerin çalışma koşulları, gelinen ülkelerde yaşanan siyasi, toplumsal ve ekonomik değişimler birçok disiplin tarafından incelenmektedir. Ancak giderek daha fazla çocuğun aileleri ile birlikte ya da refakatsiz uluslararası göçe dahil olması göçmen çocukların çalışmasını gündeme getirmiştir ve bu sorun henüz yeterince ele alınmamıştır.Bu çalışmanın amacı göçmen çocuk emeğini tekstil sektöründe çalışan Suriyeli çocuklar özelinde incelemektir. Bu amaç doğrultusunda tekstil sektöründe çalışan Suriyeli çocuklar ile yarı yapılandırılmış soru formu kullanılarak yüz yüze görüşmeler gerçekleştirilmiş ve çocukların gözünden çalışma yaşamlarına ilişkin bulgular elde edilmeye çalışılmıştır.

Syrian Child Labor in Textile Sector: The Case of IstanbulOne of the most important social problems of the contemporary world, the problem of international migration, migrants and employment of migrants has been the subject of many studies recently and it is worth researching. The reasons of international migration, employment and working conditions of immigrants, political, social and economic changes in the host countries are examined by many disciplines. However, more and more children are involved in international migration with their families or with unaccompanied and they involve in labour market but this immigrant child labour problem hasn’t been researched adequately yet.The aim of this study is to examine the immigrant child employment problem in terms of Syrian children working in textile sector in Istanbul. For this purpose, face-to-face interviews were conducted with Syrian children working in the textile sector by using a semi- structured question form and the working lives of children from their own eyes were tried to be understood.
