Abstract
Bu çalışmada, dijital medya ile değişen çalışma koşullarının da etkisiyle ortaya çıkan ve hızla yaygınlaşmakta olan serbest gazetecilik incelenmektedir. 20. yüzyılın sonlarına doğru teknolojinin ilerlemesi ve iletişim alanına hızla etki etmesiyle birlikte “dijital çağ” ya da “enformasyon toplumu” denilen bir döneme geçilmiştir. Bu dönemle birlikte birçok meslek dalı dijital ortama taşınmış, yeni iş kolları oluşmuştur. Birçok meslek dalında dijitalleşmeyle birlikte değişim yaşanmıştır. Dönüşen alanlardan biri de gazetecilik mesleğidir. Bu bağlamda değişen çalışma koşullarıyla ortaya çıkan serbest gazeteciliği araştırmak tezin merkezini teşkil etmektedir. Serbest gazeteciliğin ortaya çıkışı, çalışma koşulları ve gazeteciliğin dönüşümü, serbest gazetecilerle yapılan derinlemesine mülakatlarla analiz edilmektedir. Serbest gazeteciliğin hızlı dönüşümü göz önünde bulundurulduğunda, her ne kadar bu alanda yapılan çalışmalar bulunsa da güncel çalışmalara ihtiyaç duyulmaktadır. Özellikle serbest gazeteciliğin bütün yönleriyle analizi çalışılmaya ihtiyaç duyulan alanlardan biridir. Bu araştırma, değişen çalışma koşullarındaki makro ve mikro politikalar arasındaki çatışmaları da inceleyerek var olan literatüre katkı sağlanması amaçlanmıştır. Çalışma, serbest gazeteciliği, emek süreci, dijital emek, medyada dijital emek ve gazeteciliğin dönüşümü bağlamında incelemektedir.
In this research, freelance journalism, which has emerged with the effect of digital media and rapidly spreading with changing working conditions, will be explored. Towards the end of the 20th century, with the advancement of technology and its immediate impact on the field of communication, a period called digital age or information society has begun. During this period, many professions were transferred to the digital environment, and new business lines were created. There has been a change in many professions with digitalization. One of the transforming fields is the journalism profession. In this context, researching freelance journalism that emerges with changing working conditions constitutes the centre of the thesis. The emergence of freelance journalism, working conditions and the transformation of journalism will be analysed through in-depth interviews with freelancers. Considering the rapid transformation of freelance journalism, although there are studies in this field, up-to-date studies are needed. The analysis of all aspects of freelance journalism is one of the areas that need to be studied. This research will contribute to the existing literature by examining the conflicts between macro and micro policies in changing working conditions. The study will examine freelance journalism in the context of the labour process, digital labour, digital labour in the media, and the transformation of journalism.
