Abstract
Futbolun önemli unsurlarından birisi olan taraftar gruplarının siyasal amaçlı mobilizasyonunu odağına
alan bu çalışma, taraftar gruplarının Türkiye’de meydana gelen toplumsal hareketlere -taraftar kimliğinden
sıyrılmaksızın- katılım sağlayıp sağlamadığı, eğer katılım sağlıyorsa bu katılımı neden ve nasıl gerçekleştirdiği
probleminden hareketle yapılmıştır. Yeni toplumsal hareketler ve yeni medya ilişkisi ekseninde ele alınan
çalışmanın evrenini, Türkiye Futbol Federasyonu Süper Ligi’nde 2012-2013 sezonunda mücadele eden futbol
kulüplerinin taraftarları, örneklemini ise, Süper Lig’de şampiyonluk yaşayan kulüplerin taraftar grupları
oluşturmuştur. Çalışmada araştırma yöntemi olarak örnek olay incelemesi/durum çalışması tercih edilmiş ve Gezi
Parkı eylemleri çalışmaya örnek olay olarak seçilmiştir. Çalışmanın araştırma kısmı iki aşamada
gerçekleştirilmiştir. Öncelikle, taraftar gruplarının Gezi Parkı eylemlerine doğrudan katılımı ele alınmış, bu
çerçevede video, görüntü, açıklama, görüşme gibi çoklu veriler toplanarak analiz edilmiştir. Araştırmanın ikinci
aşamasında ise, örneklem olarak seçilen taraftar gruplarının Gezi Parkı eylemlerine dijital katılımı ele alınmış, bu
çerçevede seçili taraftar gruplarının belirlenen tarihlerde resmi Twitter hesaplarındaki paylaşımları hem nicel hem
de nitel içerik analizi tekniğiyle incelenmiştir. Gezi Parkı eylemleri örneğinde gerçekleştirilen araştırmada, taraftar
gruplarının toplumsal hareketlere siyasal bir amaç güderek hem doğrudan hem de dijital katılım sağladığı sonucuna
ulaşılmıştır.

This study focuses on the mobilization of fan groups, which are regarded as important elements of football, for political purposes. The study has been done based on the problem of whether football fan groups were involved or not and why and how this involvement is occurred if they were involved in political events or movements in Turkey in a point of view of having a self-identification as a football supporter. The research is contextualized with fans of football clubs’ competitions in season of 2012-2013 in Turkish Football Federation Super League as population of the study and football clubs that had a championship at Super League as sample of the study, in the concept of the new social movements and new media. In the study, a one-sample case study was preferred as the research method and the Gezi Park protest were chosen as the case. The research was carried out in two stages. Priority was given to the direct involvement of fan groups in the Gezi Park protest, where varied media contents such as video, image, description, interview taken from multiple data sources were analyzed. In the second phase of the research, the digital involvement of the selected supporter groups into the Gezi Park protest was described and the content of the official Twitter accounts of the fan groups was examined by means of both quantitative and qualitative content analysis techniques. The research has reached the conclusion that the fan groups have both political participation and direct participation in social movements. In addition, within the framework of football-politics relationship, the mobilization of fan groups for political purposes in Turkey, the impact of Turkey's modernization has also concluded that experience is a factor that cannot be ignored.
