Güngören ilçesinde farklı programların uygulandığı ortaöğretim kurumlarındaki öğrencilerin coğrafya dersine karşı tutumları ve bunların karşılaştırılması

Abstract

Bu tez çalışmasında, İstanbul ili Güngören ilçesindeki farklı programların uygulandığı ortaöğretim kurumlarındaki öğrencilerin coğrafya dersine karşı tutumları tespit edilerek, bunların karşılaştırılması yapılmış ve bu konu ile ilgili sorunlara çözüm yolları bulunmaya çalışılmıştır. Güngören ilçesindeki farklı programların uygulandığı çeşitli ortaöğretim kurumları bulunmaktadır. Bu kurumlar Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı'nın belirlemiş olduğu amaçlar doğrultusunda eğitim ve öğretim faaliyetlerini yürütmektedirler. İşte coğrafya dersi de bu amaçlar doğrultusunda okutulan derslerden biridir. Coğrafya dersi birinci sınıfta zorunlu ders olarak okutulmakta iken, öğrencinin seçtiği alana göre bu süre üç yıla kadar çıkmaktadır. Öğrencilerin coğrafya dersine karşı tutumlarında seçtikleri okul türünün yanı sıra, seçmiş oldukları alan ve ileriye yönelik düşünceleri etkili olmuştur. Bunun yanında, ders işleme yöntemleri, kullanılan araç ve gereçler ile öğretmenlerin konuları aktarma şekilleri ve öğrenciye karşı yaklaşımları da etkili olmaktadır. Anket sonuçları değerlendirildiğinde çok önemli özelliklerin ortaya çıktığı görülmektedir. Ancak genel olarak baktığımızda okul türü ne olursa olsun öğrencilerin coğrafya dersine karşı çok olumlu yönde baktıkları söylenemez. Sonuç olarak öğrenciler üzerindeki coğrafya dersine karşı olumsuz yöndeki düşüncelerin ortadan kaldırılacak şekilde yeni yöntemlerin geliştirilmesi bir zorunluluktur.

In the study of this thesis,it is tried to determine the way of behaving about Geography lessons in the secondary schools where there ara different programs in Güngören,İstanbul and to find solutions about this subject after comparing them. There are some secondary education institutions where there are some different programs in Güngören these institutions carry on the activities according to the aims which the Ministry of Education determined.The Geography lesson is one those lessons which are educated according to those aims.However the Geography are educated necessarily in the first year,they can be extended until three years according to the students field which they chose. İt is effective in the way of behaving about Geography lessons,the field which the students choose and the thoughts about future besides the kind of school they choose.On the other hand,it can be effective the technique of the lessons,the materials,the teachers techniques about doing the lessons and the behaviours of the teachers. İt is seen that when the results of enquiries estimate,some important charecteristics appear.But,in a general view,it is not important the kind of school,the students aren't so optimistic about the Geography lessons. İn conclusion,it is necessary to develop new techniques in order to change the pessimistic way of behaving of the students.
