İstanbul Rüstem Paşa Cami iç mekân kalem işi süslemeleri

Abstract

Kalem işi tezyini, Osmanlı devletinde özellikle 16. yy’a denk gelen klasikdönemde önemli bir bezeme öğesi olmuş ancak hat, tezhip, çini, minyatür gibi gelenekselsanatlarla ilgili, klasik dönem eserlerine ait pek çok araştırma bulunmasına rağmen,kalem işi tezyini hakkında çok fazla yayın bulunmamaktadır. Rüstem Paşa Camii’sindençeşitli kaynaklarda sınırlı sayıda ve başka yapılarla beraber bahseden çalışmalararastlanmıştır. Özellikle çini süslemeleriyle tanınan yapının kalem işi çalışmaları da sonderece önemlidir. Ancak yapının kalem işi süslemelerine değinen sınırlı sayıda kaynakmevcuttur. Bu tez çalışmasının esas konusunu Rüstem Paşa Camii’sinin iç mekân kalemişi süslemelerinin incelenmesi oluşturmaktadır. Bu kapsamda 16.yy Osmanlı camimimarisinin temel özelliklilerinden ve Mimar Sinan’ın tezyinat anlayışından bahsedilmiş,Rüstem Paşa Camii’sinin plan ve mimari özellikleri üzerinde durulmuştur. Ardındanyapının iç mekân kalem işi süslemeleri bölümlere ayrılarak, motif, renk ve kompozisyonaçısından incelenmiştir. Bu çalışma, Rüstem Paşa Camii’sinin kalem işi süslemelerini tekve ana konu olarak ele alan ilk çalışma olması bakımından önemlidir. Çalışmanın sonuçkısmında klasik dönem kalem işi süslemeleri ile Rüstem Paşa Camii’sinin kalem işisüslemeleri karşılaştırılarak anlatılmış, yapının kalem işi süslemelerinin devrininözelliklerini ne derece yansıttığı tespit edilmeye çalışılmıştır.

The wall decoration ornament was an major element of decoration in the Ottomanperiod, especially in the classical era which corresponded to the 16th century. There weremany publications about the traditional art of calligraphy, illumination, tile and miniaturebut there is a few publications about the wall decoration ornament. There is a limitednumber of other sources mentioning the Rüstem Pasha Mosque. The wall decorationornament of the building, which especially known for its tile decorations, is also veryimportant. However, there are a limited number of sources referring to the walladecoration ornament of the building. The main theme of this thesis is to examine theinterior wall decoration ornaments of Rüstem Pasha Mosque. In this context, the mainfeatures of 16th century Ottoman mosque architecture and Mimar Sinan's decorationconcept were mentioned. The plan and architectural features of Rüstem Pasha Mosquewere emphasized. Afterwards, the interior waa decoration ornaments of the building weredivided into sections and examined in terms of motif, color and composition. This studyis important in that it is the first study that deals with the wall decoration ornaments ofRüstem Paşa Mosque as the only and main subject. In the conclusion part of the study,the wall decoration ornaments of Rüstem Pasha Mosque were compared with classicalperiod wall decoration ornament and it was tried to determine to what extent the structurereflects the characteristics of the period of wall decoration ornaments.
