Abstract
This study aims to examine the Armenian press, publishing and printing activities in Turkey between 1908 and 1914. In doing so, Turkish and Armenian sources were used. Ottoman Archive documents were included as Turkish sources. Armenian sources, on the other hand, include newspapers, magazines and books printed in Turkey between 1908 and 1914. During the period between 1908 and 1914, Armenian printing houses in Turkey operated in various cities of the Ottoman Empire and were important cultural and intellectual centers for the Armenian community of the period. These Armenian printing houses generally printed various types of works. Newspapers and magazines reflecting the daily life of the Armenian community were printed in these printing houses. While following the general political developments in the Ottoman Empire, they particularly emphasized the policies and events affecting the Armenian community. Between 1908 and 1914, Armenian publishing in Turkey operated with the aim of preserving the Armenian national identity and defending the rights of the Armenian people. Publishing houses published a wide range of works, including literary works, educational books, theater texts, religious texts, and encyclopedias. These works generally had content that emphasized Armenian national identity and culture, documented Armenian history, culture, and the life of the Armenian community in the past, and addressed the social issues of the period.
