Yeni teknolojiler bağlamında belgesel filmlerde görsel anlatım olanakları

Abstract

Belgesel film yapımında teknolojinin gelişimi, sinemanın görsel anlatım dilini dönüştürerek yeni ifade biçimlerinin ortaya çıkmasına olanak sağlamıştır. Bu çalışma, belgesel film yapımında yeni teknolojilerin görsel anlatım olanaklarını nasıl çeşitlendirdiğini incelemektedir. Belgesel filmler, sinema tarihinde özgün ve önemli bir yere sahiptir. İlk ortaya çıktıkları günden bu yana hem sanatsal bir ifade aracı hem de toplumsal belgeleme yöntemi olarak işlev görmüşlerdir. Bu tez, belgesel filmlerin tarihi gelişimini, türlerini ve görsel anlatım tekniklerini ele almaktadır. Tezde, belgesel filmlerde kullanılan görsel anlatım öğeleri detaylı bir şekilde araştırılmıştır. Bu öğeler arasında kamera teknikleri, dijital sinema, animasyon tipleri, bilgisayar temelli görüntü tipleri ve yapay zeka gibi yenilikçi yöntemler bulunmaktadır. Ayrıca, belgesel film yapımında kullanılan ekipmanın biçime etkileri, filmden dijitale geçiş, sensör boyutu, dinamik aralık, ses, steadicam, omuz kamerası, lens seçimi, filtreler, odak noktası ve alan derinliği, insansız hava aracı kullanımı, yeşil (mavi) perde gibi teknik unsurlar da konuya dahil edilmiştir. Çalışmada betimleyici yöntem kullanılarak film üreticilerine ilham vermek, projelerinde yararlanabilecekleri görsel yaklaşımları çeşitlendirmek ve yaratıcı deneyleri teşvik etmek hedeflenmektedir. Belgesel filmin tarihsel gelişimini araştırarak, zaman içindeki önemli değişimler, eğilimler ve etkiler incelenmekte; görsel hikaye anlatımının teorik temelleri ve belgesel biçimi üzerindeki etkisi ele alınmaktadır. Buradaki asıl hedef geçmişte neler yapıldığını görüp, gelecekte neler yapılabileceğine dair öngörüler sunmaktır. Bu bağlamda son yıllarda ortaya çıkan yapay zeka teknolojileri bu anlamda oyunu baştan aşağıya değiştiren en önemli aygıt olarak ön planda yer almaktadır.

The development of technology in documentary filmmaking has transformed the visual narrative language of cinema and enabled the emergence of new forms of expression. This study examines how new technologies diversify the possibilities of visual expression in documentary filmmaking. Documentary films have a unique and important place in the history of cinema. Since their first appearance, they have functioned both as a means of artistic expression and as a method of social documentation. This thesis examines the historical development of documentary films, their genres, and visual narrative techniques. The thesis examines the visual narrative elements used in documentary films in detail. These elements include camera techniques, digital cinema, animation types, computer-based image types, and innovative methods such as artificial intelligence. In addition, the effects of the equipment used in documentary filmmaking on the form, the transition from film to digital, sensor size, dynamic range, sound, steadicam, shoulder camera, lens selection, filters, focal point and depth of field, use of unmanned aerial vehicles, and technical elements such as green (blue) screen are also included in the subject. The aim of the study is to inspire filmmakers by using the descriptive method, to diversify the visual approaches they can use in their projects and to encourage creative experiments. By investigating the historical development of documentary film, significant changes, trends and effects over time are examined; the theoretical foundations of visual storytelling and its impact on the documentary form are discussed. The main goal here is to see what has been done in the past and to provide predictions about what can be done in the future. In this context, artificial intelligence technologies that have emerged in recent years are at the forefront as the most important device that has changed the game in this sense.
