Publication: Sosyal Bilgiler dersinde Demokrasinin Serüveni ünitesinde geçen kavramların kazandırılması üzerine bir uygulama
Abstract
Kavram öğrenme, yüksek bilişsel düzeyde bilgilerin karşılaştırılarak genelleme yapılmasını gerektiren bir durumdur. Öğrencilerin genelleme yapabilmesi için nesne ve olayların ortak yönlerini soyutlayarak algılamaları ve farklı yönlerini ayırt etmeleri gerekmektedir. Kavram öğrenme özellikle ilköğretim kademelerinde gerçekleşen, yaşam boyu kullanılan ve yeni öğrenmelere temel oluşturan bir süreçtir. Öğrencilerin belli bir konuyu öğrenmesi de ancak o konuyu tanımlayan ve yapılandıran kavramlar ışığında düşünmeyi öğrenmesi ile gerçekleşmektedir. Bu bağlamda araştırmanın problemi 6. Sınıf Sosyal Bilgiler dersi “Demokrasinin Serüveni” ünitesinde geçen kavramların öğrencilere kazandırılma yolları ve düzeylerini tespit etmektir. Araştırmanın yöntemi durum çalışması olarak tasarlanmıştır. Bu araştırmada öğrencilere 2N formu, çalışma kâğıdı, karikatür çizimleri ve görüşme formu uygulanmıştır. Elde edilen veriler nicel veri analizlerinden t testi analizi, nitel veri analizlerinden betimsel analiz ve doküman analizi aracılığıyla çözümlenmiştir. Sonuç olarak öğrencilere kavram kazandırma amacıyla kullanılan yöntemlerin olumlu yönde anlamlı bir farklılık oluşturduğu görülmüştür.
The concept learning is a situation that requires to generalization of the information at high cognitive level. In order for the students to generalize, they need to perceive the common sides of objects and situations by isolating and discern the different sides. The concept learning is especially a process which is realize particularly in the primary school levels, being used life long and forming a basis for new learnings. The learning of a certain subject comes true only if by learning how to think enlightened by concepts that define and structure that topic. In this context, the problem of the research is to determine the ways and levels of making the students attain the concepts mentioned in the chapter of “The Democracy Experrience” of 6th class Social Studies lecture. The method of the research was designed as a case study. In this research the 2W form, worksheet, cartoon drawings and interview form were applied to the students. The gained data was resolved by t test analysis among quantitative data analysis, descriptive and document analysis among qualitative data analysis. As a conclusion, it has been seen that the methods that are used with the objective created a significant difference to make the students attain the concepts.
