Publication: Futbolda kinematik özellikler ve oyun becerisinin lig sıralamasındaki etkisinin incelenmesi
Abstract
Objective: This study evaluated the relationship between kinematic parameters, skill characteristics, and success in the Turkish Super League. Materials and Methods: A total of 380 matches played by 20 teams in the 2021–2022 season were analyzed. In order to categorize the teams, a scatter plot was used, which included the total points earned at the end of the season and the league rankings. The 20 teams were divided into three groups as successful (5 teams), moderately successful (mediocre) (11 teams with no significant differences), and unsuccessful (4 teams) based on point rankings. Single-factor analysis of variance (One-Way ANOVA) was used to compare the 3 groups for each dependent variable. As parametric test assumptions, normality test was checked with Shapiro-Wilks, and variance homogeneity was checked with Levene’s test. Results: While it was observed that successful teams demonstrated higher ball possession, more passes and fewer turnovers in their own half compared to both medium successful (mediocre) and unsuccessful teams, it was observed that medium successful (mediocre) and unsuccessful teams were similar in terms of these values. In the comparison of the groupings, it was seen that successful teams had higher values in the parameters of total running distance covered, total running distance covered at 10-15 km speed, total running distance covered at 15-20 km speed (p<0.09). Conclusions: In conclusion, this study found that successful teams scored more goals from open play and conceded fewer goals from set pieces compared to other teams.
