Publication: sodyum hipoklorit, EDTA, propolis, borik asit ve sitrik asit yıkama solüsyonlarının kök kanal patlarındaki bağlanma dayanımları üzerine etkisinin incelenmesi
Abstract
Objective: The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of different root canal irrigation solutions on the bonding strength of AH Plus and Bioserra root canal sealers on root dentin. Materials and Methods: In this study, 100 single root teeth were used. The root canals of these teeth were instrumented with a Protaper Next X3 (Dentsply Maillefer, Ballaigues, Switzerland) rotary file. The teeth were divided into 2 groups according to the root canal filling material (AH Plus and Bioserra) and each group was divided into 5 subgroups (n=10). The irrigation solutions applied are as follows: 5.25% NaOCl, 17% EDTA, 10% citric acid, 10% boric acid, 10% propolis. Horizontal sections with a thickness of 2 mm were taken from the middle level of the each tooth’s root and a vertical compression force was applied to the canal fillings by a testing machine (Shimadzu, Japan) until a failure occurred in the connection. After the compression test, both the samples were examined with the binocular microscope (Leica, Germany) and the POBS values of the root canal sealers were calculated. Statistical analyses were performed using Kruskal-Wallis H and Mann-Whitney U tests. Results: When the groups were compared according to the irrigation solution regardless of the root canal sealer used, the average bonding strength values were found to be statistically significantly higher in NaOCl groups compared to other solution groups (p<0.05). Among the Bioserra groups, NaOCl group had statistically significantly higher average POBS values than other irrigation solution groups (p<0.05). POBS average of the AH Plus group was significantly higher than the Bioserra group (p<0.05). POBS average of the samples using AH Plus in the 17% EDTA and 10% citric acid groups was found to be significantly higher compared to the average of the Bioserra samples (p<0.05). Conclusion: The bonding strength is significantly affected by the root canal sealer used factor and the sealer/ irrigation solution interaction. If 17% EDTA or 10% citric acid is to be used as the root canal irrigation solution, then choosing AH Plus sealer for root canal filling will be a factor that increases the bond strength values compared to choosing Bioserra sealer.
