Mühimme defterlerinde kayıtlı Avrupalı hükümdarlara gönderilmiş Nâme-i Hümâyûnlar (1545-1696)

Abstract

Osmanlı Arşivi'nde bulunan Mühimme defterlerinde, Osmanlı coğrafyasında meydana gelen pek çok siyâsî, askerî, iktisâdî ve toplumsal olayı, bununla beraber Osmanlı Devleti'nin diğer devletler ile olan diplomatik ilişkilerini görmek mümkündür. Bu ilişkilere bir ışık tutabilmek amacıyla 1545-1696 yılları arasında Mühimme defterlerinde yer alan ve Avusturya, Dubrovnik, Erdel, Fransa, İngiltere, İspanya, Lehistan, Macaristan, Portekiz, Rusya ve Venedik'e gönderilen nâmeler tespit edilerek transkripsiyonları yapılmıştır. 1699 yılından itibaren nâme-i hümâyûnlar için ayrı defter tutulmaya başlandığından bu tarih sonrası nâmeler teze dahil edilmemiştir. Tezin giriş kısmında kısaca mühimme defterlerinden, nâme-i hümâyûnlardan ve Osmanlı diplomasisinden bahsedilmiştir. İnceleme kısmında ise öncelikli olarak Osmanlı'nın yukarıda bahsi geçen ülkelerle olan ilişkileri genel bir çerçevede ele alınmış ve tespit edilen nâme-i hümâyûnların muhtevâları incelenmiştir. Son olarak da nâmelerin özetleri ile birlikte transkripsiyonlarına yer verilmiştir.

Muhimmes in the Ottoman Archieve provide invaluable information about the political, military, economic and social issues in the Ottoman territory in addition to the diplomatic relations between the Ottoman Empire and the other countries in the past. This thesis aims to enlighten these diplomatic relations from 1545 to 1696, focusing on name-i humayuns which were sent to Austria, Dubrovnik, Transylvania, France, England, Spain, Poland, Hungary, Portugal, Russia and Venice by the Ottoman Empire. As there were different registries for name-i humayuns since 1699, muhimmes after this year are not studied in this thesis. In the introduction section, a brief information is given about muhimme registers, name-i humayuns, and the Ottoman diplomacy. In the analysis section, primarily the relations between the Ottoman Empire and the aforementioned countries are generally studied and contents of name-i humayuns are examined. Following to this, the main section of this thesis covers the translation of each of name-i humayuns and summarises the context of each document.
