Using business intelligence tools to improve decision-making processes : the case of ngos that use bi and its impact on organizational performance and effectiveness

Abstract

Bilgi teknolojilerinin hızla gelişmesi sayesinde kurum liderleri artık daha fazla veriye erişebiliyor. Teknoloji ve verilerdeki bu gelişmelerin bir sonucu olarak organizasyonun her seviyesinde artan konsantrasyona yönelik aşırı talep, mevcut en iyi gerçekleri kullanarak karar vermeyi zorlaştırdı. Son on yılda, iş zekası (BI) sistemleri yüksek bir odak noktası olmuştur, ancak uygulama aşamasından sonra bu sistemlerin nasıl etkin bir şekilde kullanılacağı konusunda çok az şey anlaşılmıştır. Bu çalışma, STK'larda üst düzey yöneticilerin yönetsel karar verme kalitesi ve yetenekleri üzerinde kullanılan BI yazılımının kapsamlı etkilerini ve bunun organizasyonel performans ve etkinlik üzerindeki etkisini, içinde bulunan 178 katılımcıdan oluşan bir örneklem üzerinde nicel ankete dayalı bir çalışma yürüterek incelemektedir. İş Zekası (BI) yazılımının kararların kalitesi ve kurumsal faydaları üzerindeki önerilen ilişkilerini temsil etmek için orta veya üst düzey yönetim pozisyonlarından sorumlu. Kâr amacı gütmeyen sektördeki bu teorik yaklaşımları içeren kapsamlı bir modeli ampirik olarak değerlendiren bu çalışma, mevcut araştırmaların BI başarı yönlerinin üstün BI algılama ve ele geçirme yeteneklerinin oluşturulmasına uygulanmasını göstermektedir. Sonuç olarak, bu araştırma iş zekası (BI), bilgi sistemleri ve örgütsel etkililik anlayışımızı ilerletmektedir.

Organizational leaders now have access to more data thanks to the rapid development of information technologies. The overwhelming demand for increased concentration at every level of the organization as a result of these developments in technology and data has made it difficult to make decisions using the best available facts. For the past ten years, business intelligence (BI) systems have been a high focus, but little is understood about how to effectively use those systems after the implementation stage. This study examines the comprehensive effects of BI software used on the managerial decision-making quality and capabilities of senior managers at NGOs, and its impact on organizational performance and effectiveness through conducting a quantitative survey-based study from a sample of 178 respondents who are in charge of middle or high-management positions to represent the proposed relationships of Business Intelligence (BI) software on the quality of decisions and its organizational benefits. By empirically evaluating a comprehensive model that incorporates these theoretical approaches in the nonprofit sector, this research reveals the application of existing research's BI success aspects to the establishment of superior BI detection and seizing competences. As a result, this research advances our thoughtful of business intelligence (BI), information systems, and organizational effectiveness.
