Üstün yetenekli olan ve olmayan öğrencilerin öz güven düzeylerinin karşılaştırılması

Abstract

ÖZETBu araştırmada üstün yetenekli olan ve olmayan bireylerlerin özgüven düzeylerinin karşılaştırılması amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmada üstün yetenekli olan ve olmayan bireylerin bazı demografik özelliklerine (cinsiyet, sınıf, anne eğitim durumu, baba eğitim durumu) göre aralarındaki ilişkinin değişip değişmediği incelenmiştir. Bu çalışmada 88 üstün yetenekli tanısı almış, 187 normal gelişim gösteren öğrenci yer almıştır. Veri toplama aracı olarak Özgüven Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Ölçek Ahmet Akın (2007) tarafından geliştirilmiş lise düzeyine uygulanmış 33 maddeden ve iki alt boyuttan oluşan Özgüven Ölçeğinden uyarlanmıştır. Ölçeğin yapı geçerliğini belirlemek amacıyla açımlayıcı faktör analizi (AFA) uygulanmıştır. 30 madde ile 3. ve 4. sınıflarda güvenirliği sağlanmıştır. Araştırmada toplanan verilerin analizinde ANOVA ve gruplarda farklılığın kaynağını bulmak için bağımsız gruplar t-testi kullanılmıştır. Araştırma için yapılan analiz sonucunda üstün yetenekli olan ve olmayan öğrencilerin özgüven düzeyleri arasında anlamlı bir farklılık bulunmuştur (p<.05). Üstün yetenekli ilkokul öğrencilerinin diğer öğrencilere göre daha özgüvenli oldukları söylenebilir. İlkokul 3. ve 4. sınıfa devam eden üstün yetenekli olan ve olmayan öğrencilerin özgüven düzeylerine cinsiyet, sınıf düzeyi, anne eğitim durumu, baba eğitim durumu değişkenlerine göre incelendiğinde; ilkokul öğrencilerinin özgüven düzeyleri üzerinde araştırılan değişkenlerin ortak bir etkisi olmadığı belirlenmiştir (p>.05). Özgüven düzeylerinin cinsiyet, sınıf düzeyi, anne eğitim durumu, baba eğitim durumu gibi değişkenlere göre üstün yetenekli olan ve olmayan öğrenciler arasında farklılaşmadığı bulunmuştur.

In this study, it was aimed to compare the self-confidence levels of gifted and unskilled individuals. In the research, it was examined whether the relationship between the gifted and non-gifted individuals according to some demographic characteristics (gender, class, mother education level, father education level) has changed. In this study, 88 gifted students, 187 students with normal development were included. Self Confidence Scale was used as a data collection tool. The scale was adapted from the Self-Confidence Scale consisting of 33 items and two sub-dimensions applied to high school level developed by Ahmet Akın (2007). Exploratory factor analysis (AFA) was applied to determine the construct validity of the scale. With 30 items, reliability was provided in the 3rd and 4th grades. In the analysis of the data collected in the study, ANOVA and independent groups t-test were used to find the source of the difference in the groups.As a result of the analysis made for the research, a significant difference was found between the self-confidence and the gifted students' levels (p <.05). It can be said that gifted primary school students are more confident than other students. When the self-confidence levels of gifted and non-gifted students attending to the 3rd and 4th grades of primary school are examined according to the variables of gender, grade level, mother education level, father education level; It was determined that the variables investigated on the self-confidence levels of primary school students did not have a common effect (p> .05). It was found that self-confidence levels did not differ among gifted and non-gifted students according to variables such as gender, grade level, mother education level, father education level.
