Abstract
Tezimizde 1892-1930 yıları arasında İstanbul Arkeoloji Müzeleri'nde görev yapan müzeci arkeolog ve kultur adamı Theodor Makridi'nin yaşamı konu edilmiştir. Makridi Bey'in hayatı ve aldığı eğitim, Müze-i Humayun'da göreve başlaması, burada geçirdiği aşamalar, katıldığı kazılar, bu kazılarla ilgili raporları, meslek hayatına Yunanistan'da devam edişi, bu çalışmaların ortaya çıkardığı sonuçlar, Türk arkeolojisi ve müzeciliğine katkıları, anlatılırken; Osman Hamdi Bey'in müzecilik ve arkeoloji alanındaki ilk atılımları gerçekleştirmesini, Müze'nin yapısı, gelişimi işleyişi, Osmanlı Bürokrasisi içindeki konumu ve misyonunu da bu perspektiften izlemek mümkün olacaktır. Osmanlı İmparatorluğu'nda yabancılar tarafından yapılan arkeolojik keşifler, bu dönemde Anadolu'da gerçekleştirilen kazılar, Ülkenin içinde bulunduğu siyasal ve sosyal şartların bu gelişmelere etkisi de Makridi Bey'in Türk arkeolojisi ve müzeciliğinin tarihi gelişimi içindeki yerini ve taşıdığı anlamı ortaya koyacak şekilde ele alınmıştır. arkeoloji, müzecilik, Makridi

Theodor Macridy's biography is potten subject matter who is museumer, arcaeologist and cultured man Who functioned at İstanbul Achaeology Museum in between 1892-1930. while they are explained which Mr. Macridy's life and his taking education, starting his function at the Müze-i Humayun, passing ranks , joining the excavations, report about this excavations, lasting his profession life in Greece, come into being results by his studies; his being of help to the Turkish archaeology and museology. From this perspective will have be possible watching structure of museum, development, to perform, position into Ottoman's Bureaucracy and it's mission and Mr. Osman Hamdi has realized the initial advance at area of museology and archaeology. At Ottoman Empire that archaeological discoverys are made by foreigners. İn this form excavations are made real in Anatolia . Effecting to these progresses into political and social conditions of the country .
