Heykel sanatında bir ifade aracı olarak yaprak

Abstract

Bu eser metin çalışmasında, doğanın bir unsuru olan yaprağın heykel sanatında ifade aracı olarak kullanımı incelenmiştir. Yaprak, doğaya ait temel ögelerden birisi olarak, insanlık tarihinde, insanın doğayla olan etkileşimi ve bu etkileşimle ortaya çıkan ve biçimlenen kültürlerde başından beri varlığını korumuştur. Farklı yerlerde farklı anlamlar taşıyan bir araç olmuştur. Hem sözlü hem de biçimsel anlatıda bir hayli yer edinen, doğal bir form olan yaprak estetik araçsallığının ötesinde farklı anlamlarla simgesel anlatının da ifadesi olmuştur. Yaprağın tarihsel süreçte nasıl anlam katmanlarıyla zenginleştiği, değişen dönemler ve kültürlerde kavramsal ve biçimsel olarak ele alınış halleri seçilen örnekler üzerinden değerlendirilmiştir. Sanatta sembol kullanımı ve bitki sembolizminin incelenmesiyle Antik dönem örnekleri, Anadolu örnekleri, Antik Mısır ve Yunan’da yaprağın taşıdığı estetik ve simgesel dil ile mitolojik anlamları üzerinde durulmuştur. Yaprağın farklı kültürlerdeki anlatılarda zenginleşen anlam aralığı incelenmiş; çağdaş heykelde yaprak kullanımının estetik bir biçim olmanın ötesinde kavramsal bir yapı ve içerikle heykelde yer aldığı; ekolojik, bireysel ya da toplumsal ifadeye araç olarak varlık göstermiş olduğuna örnekler üzerinden dikkat çekilmiştir. Yaprağın ifade aracı olarak kullanımı, sembol ve bitki kavramları temel alınarak, heykel sanatındaki anlatım ve metafor inşasındaki yeri, çağdaş sanat yapıtları üzerinden çeşitli örneklerle pekiştirilmiştir. Çağdaş yapıtlarda yaprak temalı bu heykellerin biçimsel çözümlemelerinde ekolojik göndermeler taşıdığı görünmüştür. Birbirinden farklı biçimsel yaklaşımlarla meydana getirilen bu yapıt örneklerinde pek çok değişen içerik ve anlatı olsa da doğa ve çevre konuları etrafında gelişen ortak bir paydada buluşulduğu görülmüştür. Kişisel pratikte ise ortaya konmuş yapıtların biçim ve anlam ögesi olarak yaprağın heykele nasıl dahil olduğu açıklanmış; yapıtların kavramsal içeriğine doğanın, kültürün, tarihin yanı sıra, kişisel tarihin ve hikâyenin önemi ortaya konmuştur.

LEAF AS TOOL OF EXPRESSION IN SCULPTURE ART In this text study, the use of the leaf, an element of nature, as a means of expression in sculpture has been examined. As one of the basic elements of nature, the leaf has maintained its existence since the beginning in human history, in the interaction of man with nature and in the cultures that emerged and were shaped by this interaction. It has been a tool that carries different meanings in different places. The leaf, a natural form that has a significant place in both verbal and formal narrative, has also been an expression of symbolic narrative with different meanings beyond its aesthetic instrumentality. How the leaf has been enriched with layers of meaning in the historical process, and how it has been conceptually and formally addressed in changing periods and cultures have been evaluated through selected examples. By examining the use of symbols and plant symbolism in art, examples from the ancient period, Anatolian examples, the aesthetic and symbolic language carried by the leaf in Ancient Egypt and Greece, and its mythological meanings have been emphasized. The range of meanings enriched in narratives in different cultures of the leaf has been examined; it has been emphasized through examples that the use of leaves in contemporary sculpture, beyond being an aesthetic form, has a conceptual structure and content in sculpture; and has existed as a means of ecological, individual or social expression. The use of the leaf as a means of expression, its place in the construction of narrative and metaphor in sculpture art, based on the concepts of symbol and plant, has been reinforced with various examples from contemporary works of art. In the formal analyses of these sculptures with leaf themes in contemporary works, it has been seen that they carry ecological references. Although there are many changing contents and narratives in these examples of works created with different formal approaches, it has been seen that a common ground developed around the subjects of nature and environment is found. In personal practice, it has been explained how the leaf is included in the sculpture as a form and meaning element of the works; the importance of nature, culture, history, as well as personal history and story in the conceptual content of the works has been revealed.
