Publication: Donald Trump dönemi İsrail politikasında Hristiyan siyonistlerin etkisi
Abstract
When it comes to the US-Israel relations, the influence of evangelical beliefs and groups in these relations is often mentioned and it is emphasized that evangelicalism is behind the strong US support for Israel. It has been claimed that these groups, which are characterized as an important bloc within the Republican Party, have reached the peak of their power under Donald Trump and that they are present in the foreign policy-making process. However, this study, by determining that evangelical groups are very large, has taken the influence of this group as its subject matter, based on the fact that Christian Zionists, a sub-group, can be characterized as a pressure group. The main claim of the study is that although there is a strong interaction between this group and the administration in the Donald Trump era, it is not possible to talk about the power of this group to direct Israeli politics. Even in domestic politics, Christian Zionists have almost no influence. The fact that Christian Zionists claim that every decision taken outside of them regarding Israel was taken as a result of their pressure and their ability to legitimize every action taken in this respect from a religious perspective creates the perception that they have influence in Israeli politics. The fact that they agree with the US administrations on their support for Israel strengthens this perception.
