Abstract
Hızla değişen ve yenilenen dünyada, insanları gündelik yaşantının sıkıntı ve kaygılarından uzaklaştıran, başka dünyaların, başka bir gerçekliğin kapısını aralayan sinemada, özellikle güncel olan yapımlar içinde kimlik konusuna sıklıkla yer verilmektedir. Toplumsal olay ve toplumsal olgulardan beslenerek gerçeği yeniden sunan sinema sanatında, popüler kültür içinde en çok sözü geçen Hollywood sineması olmaktadır. Farklı kültürleri ve kimlikleri güncel çalışmaları içinde bir araya getiren Hollywood sinemasında meydana gelen kimlik dinamizmi, küresele ulaşan izleyici kitlesini etkilemektedir. Bu sebeple çalışma, Hollywood sinemasının ürettiği kimlik temsillerinin toplumsala olan yansımasını araştırmış ve bireyin kimlik inşa sürecine etkileri üzerinde durulmuştur. Küreselliğin getirdiği ekonomik, siyasi ve kültürel değişimler, kuşkusuz ki kimlik kavramı da etkilemiş ve kimliğe olan bakışı yeniden şekillendirmiştir. Hollywood sinemasının küresel bir güç olarak ürettiği kimlik temsilleri, değişen kimlik algısını anlamakta önemli bir araç olmuştur. Bu çalışma, güncel kimlik problemini, güncel Hollywood içerikleri ile ilişkili olarak ele almış ve konuyu sosyolojik bakış açısı ile değerlendirmiştir. Bu nedenle kimlik ve sinema literatürüne katkı sağlamayı amaçlamaktadır. Bu tez çalışmasında, araştırma kapsamında amaçlı örneklem ile seçilen 5 Hollywood yapımı içerik, sosyolojik film çözümlemesi tekniği ile analiz edilmiştir. Hollywood’un değişim sürecini kademeli olarak ifade eden yapımlardan elde edilen bulgular sonucunda; Hollywood sineması içeriklerinin, farklı kimlik ve kültürleri birleştirici bir unsur olmasındaki temel amacın Hollywood’un küresel ekonomik büyüme isteği olduğu kanısına varılmıştır.
In the rapidly changing and renewing world, cinema, which takes people away from the troubles and anxieties of daily life, opens the door to other worlds and another reality, the issue of identity is frequently included in the current productions. In the art of cinema, which re-presents reality by feeding on social events and social facts, Hollywood cinema is the most mentioned in popular culture. In Hollywood cinema, which brings together different cultures and identities in their contemporary works that identity dynamism, influences the global audience. For this reason, the social reflections of identity representations produced by Hollywood cinema were investigated in this study and the effects of cinema on the identity construction process of the individual are emphasized. The economic, political and cultural changes brought about by globalization have undoubtedly affected the concept of identity and reshaped the view of identity. Identity representations produced by Hollywood cinema as a global power have been an important tool in understanding the changing perception of identity. This study deals with the current identity problem in relation to the current Hollywood content and evaluated the issue from a sociological point of view. Therefore, it aims to contribute to identity and cinema literature. In this thesis, there are 5 Hollywood-made content selected through purposive sampling within the scope of the research. contents were analyzed by sociological film analysis technique. As a result of the findings obtained from the productions that gradually express the change process of Hollywood; It has been concluded that the main purpose of Hollywood cinema content being a uniting element of different identities and cultures is Hollywood's desire for global economic growth.
