Abstract
Hatice Kübra Kanal, Ali Seydi Bey’in Ahlak Düşüncesi, Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsü İslam Felsefesi, Danışman: Doç. Dr. Muhittin Macit, VI+156 s. Ali Seydi Bey, II. Meşrutiyet döneminin çok yönlü aydınlarından biridir. Dilci ve tarihçi olarak bilinen Ali Seydi, okulların çeşitli kademeleri için muhtelif ders kitapları hazırlamıştır. Sözlük, ansiklopedi ve tarih kitaplarının yanında birçok ahlak kitabı da yazmıştır. Bu çalışmada Ali Seydi’nin ahlak kitaplarından hareketle ahlak anlayışını ortaya koymaya çalıştık. Giriş bölümünde Osmanlı son dönem ahlak anlayışının bir tasvirini yaptık ve bu dönemde yayınlanmış olan ahlak kitapları bibliyografyası düzenledik. Birinci bölümde Ali Seydi Bey’in hayatı, eserleri, dil ve tarih düşüncesini, ikinci bölümde Ali Seydi Bey’in ahlak düşüncesini anlattık. Üçüncü bölümde ise Ali Seydi Bey’in ahlak düşüncesinde Kant’ın vazife ahlakının etkilerini ve klasik ahlak düşüncesinin izlerini ele aldık. Ali Seydi’nin güçlü bir ahlak düşüncesi ortaya koyduğunu söyleyemeyiz. Çünkü O, teorik konularla ilgilenmemiş ve ahlakı tartışmamıştır. Sadece normatif eserler yazmıştır. Ancak birçok ahlak ders kitabı hazırlamış olması onu son dönem Osmanlı ahlak düşüncesi içerisinde önemli kılmaktadır. Kant’ın ödev ahlakının etkisiyle bu dönem ahlakçılarının çoğunda olduğu gibi vazife kavramını ahlak düşüncesinin merkezine almıştır. “Vezaif Nazariyesi Üzerine Mürettep Ahlak-ı Dinî” adlı eserinde dini delillere dayanan ahlak ile modern ahlak düşüncelerini bağdaştırmaya çalışmıştır.

Ali Seydi Bey was one of the versatile intellectuals during II. Constitutional Monarchy. Ali Seydi, was known as linguist and historian, had edited textbooks for using in various levels of schools. He had written not only dictionaries, encyclopedias, history books but also many moral books. In this thesis, we have tried to reveal the moral thought of Ali Seydi, through of his moral books. In Introduction, we have described conception of moral in the last period of Ottoman and arranged bibliography of moral books which were published in this period. In the first chapter, we have dealt with Ali Seydi’s life, books and idea of language and history. We have explained the moral thought of Ali Seydi Bey in the second chapter. In the third chapter, we have discussed effects of Kant’s duty ethics and traces of conventional moral thought through two classic moral books, in his moral thought. We can’t say that Ali Seydi hadn’t composed a strong morals thought. Because he wasn’t interested in the theoretical issues and also didn’t discuss ethics. He has only written normative moral books. That he had written moral textbooks makes him important in the moral thought in the last period of Ottoman. With the effect of Kant’s duty ethics, the concept of duty was in the center of his moral thought just like most of the moral thinkers in this period. He had tried to reconcile religious moral and modern moral conceptions in his book, named “Vezaif Nazariyesi Üzerine Mürettep Ahlak-ı Dinî (Religious Morality is Based on The Theory of Duties)”.
