ÖĞRENCİLERİN MATEMATİK DERSİNE İLİŞKİN KORKU NEDENLERİNİ_x000D_ BELİRLEMEYE YÖNELİK BİR ÖLÇEĞİN GELİŞTİRİLMESİ

Abstract

Bu araştırma öğrencilerin matematik korkusunun nedenlerini belirlemeye yönelik bir ölçek geliştirmek amacıyla yapılmıştır.Çalışmanın örneklemini 2018-2019 öğretim yılında Uşak il genelinde ilkokul, ortaokul ve lise kademesinde öğrenim gören2580 öğrenci oluşturmuştur. Ölçek geliştirme aşamaları kapsamında alan yazın taranmıştır. Ölçekle ilgili madde havuzununoluşturulmasından sonra uzman görüşüne başvurulmuştur. Pilot çalışma, yapı geçerliliği ve güvenirliğinin tespiti çalışmalarıyapılmıştır. Açımlayıcı faktör analizi sonucunda her biri beş sorudan oluşan öğretmenden kaynaklı matematik korkusu,çevreden kaynaklı matematik korkusu, matematiğin yapısından kaynaklı matematik korkusu, öğrencinin kendi kişiselözelliklerinden kaynaklı matematik korkusu boyutları oluşmuştur. Elde edilen dört boyut toplam varyansın yaklaşık %55’iniaçıklamıştır. “Matematik Korkusunun Nedenleri Ölçeğinin” öğrencilerin matematik korkusunun nedenlerini ölçmede geçerlive güvenilir bir ölçme aracı olduğu belirlenmiştir.

This research is conducted to determine the causes of students’ fear about mathematics. The sample of the study consisted of_x000D_ 2580 students attending primary, secondary and high school in Uşak province in 2018-2019 academic year. In the scale_x000D_ development stages, the literature was searched. After composing the pool of items related to the scale, expert opinion was_x000D_ sought. A pilot study was conducted to determine the construct validity and reliability. As a result of exploratory factor analysis,_x000D_ dimensions as math fear caused by teacher, math fear stemming from environment, math fear stemming from the structure of_x000D_ mathematics, math fear stemming from the students' own personal characteristics were formed and each of them consisted of_x000D_ five questions. The four obtained dimensions explained about 55% of the total variance. “The Causes of Math Fear Scale” was_x000D_ found to be a valid and reliable instrument for measuring the causes of math fear.
