Publication: Baş-boyun kitlelerinde bilgisayarlı tomografi ve ultrasonografinin yeri
Abstract
This study was conducted in order to determine the clinical use of ultra-sonography (US) and computerized tomography (CT) in the diagnosis of head and neck masses. Forty-eight patients with head and neck mass were studied prospectively. US and CT findings were compared with clinical eval¬uation, laboratory results, intraoperative definition of the mass and his-topathologic diagnosis. We concluded that US and CT could define the local¬ization of the mass in relation to its surrounding structures, and in most cases enabled a precise to be made. US and CT may prove most useful diagnostic tools when combined with clinical findings.
