Reşat Nuri Güntekin’in romanlarında savaş teması

Abstract

Türk Edebiyatı’nın en önemli romancılarından biri olan Reşat Nuri Güntekin, eserlerinde Osmanlı İmparatorluğu’nun yıkılması ve Türkiye Cumhuriyeti’nin kuruluş yıllarına denk gelen savaş yılları içerisinde yaşanan gelişmeleri, roman kahramanının hayat hikâyesi içerisine yerleş-tirerek anlatır. Özellikle Balkan Savaşları, I. Dünya Savaşı, Mütareke Dönemi ve Kurtuluş Savaşı yıllarındaki savaş ortamının nesilleri ve cemiyet düzenini ne hale getirdiğinden bahseden Reşat Nuri, cephede olanlardan çok cephe arkasındakilerle ilgilenir. Onun romanlarında “savaş” toplumsal değerleri yıkan, insanları birbirine düşüren acı bir felaket olmasının yanında aynı zamanda roman kahramanlarına acımayı, sevmeyi öğreten ve onları olgunlaştıran bir öğretmendir. Bu çalışmanın amacı insanlığın en acı tecrübelerinden biri olan “savaş” temasının romana yansıyan yönüyle insan ve toplum üzerindeki tesirlerini tespit etmektir.

Reşat Nuri Güntekin, one of the most notable writer in Turkish Literature, in his novels narrates the wars, the fall of the Ottoman Empire and the Foundation of The Turkish Republic by creating figures in his novels. Especially the Balkan War, World War I., The Period of Truce and The War of Independence, Güntekin tells how the atmosphere of war influenced the generations as well as the social order, putting emphasis on the background effects of the war rather than the events occurred at the front. In Güntekin’s novels, “war” is considered to be a calamity destroying the social values and causing enmity among people on the one hand, and on the other hand, war is regarded as an educator that teaches the heroes and heroines how to pity and love others and it helps them mature themselves. And the aim of this study is to find out the social and human influences of the war, which is one of the nastiest human miseries, as they reflect on the novels.
