Abstract
ERKEN CUMHURİYET DÖNEMİ ANKARASI’NDA MEKANSAL DÖNÜŞÜMLER VE KÖKENLERİ Bu çalışmanın amacı Erken Cumhuriyet Dönemi mekansal dönüşümlerini Ankara özelinde, tarihsel bağlamı çerçevesinde analiz etmek ve bu dönüşümleri politik olarak anlamlandırmaya çalışmaktır. Mekansal dönüşümler Türkiye modernleşmesinin bir parçasıdır. Bu dönüşümler, modern devletin ortaya çıkışının somut olarak izlenebileceği bir araştırma alanı olarak, yaklaşık yüzyıl boyunca Osmanlı-Türkiye coğrafyasında tecrübe edilmiştir. Mekan ve politikanın kesiştiği alan modern devletin kurulumu sürecidir. Modern devlet 19.yy’da modern belediyeciliği üretmiştir. 19. yy Osmanlı reform döneminde ortaya çıkan belediyecilik kurumu ve bununla ilgili mevzuat mekansal dönüşümleri yürüten rejimdir. Erken Cumhuriyet Dönemi’nde mekansal dönüşümler bu rejim eliyle yürütülmüştür. Bu bağlamda başkent seçilmesinin ardından Ankara’nın rasyonel hatlara göre planlanması aynı zamanda çözümlenebilecek bir siyasi projeyi sunmaktadır. SPATIAL TRANSFORMATIONS IN EARLY REPUBLICAN ANKARA AND THEIR ORIGINS This study aims an analysis of Early Republican Period spatial transformations in the case of Ankara within the framework of its historical context and attempts to explain their political meanings. Spatial transformations are a part of Turkey’s modernization. As a research area by focusing on spatial transformations that had been experienced throughout a century, the process of formation of modern state can be followed. The intersection point of space and politics is the formation of modern state. The Modern state produced the modern municipalism in 19th century. The institution of municipalism that emerged in the 19th century Ottoman reform period, and the related statute is the governing regime of spatial transformations. In the Early Republican Period this regime governed the spatial transformations. In this context, after its selection as a capital, the planning of Ankara according to rational patterns also presents a political project that can be analyzed.
