dc.description.abstractMirza Fath-Ali Akhundzadah is a famous author, playwright, philosopher, and founder of modern literary criticism. He is one of the most significant names of Azerbaijan literature. Akhundzadah is regarded as the founder of modern literature in Azerbaijan. He is also first comedy writer and one of the first alphabet reformist in Islamic world. Though Akhundzadah is mostly remembered for his founding work in theater and drama, his contribution to alphabet reform was enormous. This study focused on Akhundzadah's the new alphabet project and his activities in this area in Iran and the Ottoman Empire.
