Abstract
ABSTRACTThe short film is coeval with the world cinema. Although short film has lost its first place to feature films with the development of the cinema industry, it has survived to become an industry within itself. The history and development of the short film in our country is similar to that of the world cinema. Even though it has been done since the first days of its existence, the beginning of its development and its present meaning backs to the beginning of the 90s. The fact that film festivals honour the short films, the increase in the number of schools providing cinema education and the cheap and widespread use of video formats contributed to the development of the short film. Since the first days of cinema history, it has been able to find a place in social issues besides classical subjects. One of the most important of these social issues is migration, both the internal migration from the village to the city, and the stories of our people who went abroad to work, were transferred to the big screen by many important directors, especially Ömer Lütfi Akad. The reflection of the migration issue in the short film was later in parallel with the development of the short film. Especially after the 2000s, one of the most described issues in short films is migration. The effects of migration on human psychology and life as well as their consequences are extremely important issues to be investigated. Children are the most affected by the forced migration. When children begin to make sense of the world, when they are forced out of the environment in which they begin to grow, they face difficulties that affect both themselves and the society in which they live. With this work, I will examine the impact of forced migration on children in short films.
