Enürezis şiddet ilişkisi kalitatif çalışma

Abstract

Amaç: Çalışma, bir ilköğretim okulunda öğrenim gören enürezisli çocukların enürezis ve şiddete ilişkin duygu ve düşüncelerinin belirlenmesi amacıyla planlandı. Gereç ve Yöntem: Bu niteliksel araştırma 15 Ekim 2011 / 20 Şubat 2012 tarihleri arasında İstanbul İli Üsküdar İlçesi'ne bağlı kamuya ait bir ilköğretim okulunda okumakta olan çocuklarda fenomenolojik yaklaşım uygulanarak yapıldı. Araştırma evrenini ilköğretim okulu 1-8. sınıf öğrencileri (N=1350) oluşturdu. Çocuklara ilişkin bilgiler, araştırmacılar tarafından literatür doğrultusunda hazırlanmış Kişisel Bilgi Formu, ve Ruhsal Uyum Ölçeği(RUÖ) ile toplandı. Araştırma niteliksel olarak planlandığı için örneklem büyüklüğü hesaplanmadı. Enürezis sorunu olan 7-12 yaş arası 64 çocuk araştırmanın örneklemini oluşturdu. Çalışma araştırmaya gönüllü katılmayı kabul eden 9 çocukla gerçekleştirildi. Çocuklara enürezis ve şiddet hakkında sorular soruldu ve bu sorulara yönelik yanıtlar istendi. Görüşmeler çocukların izni ile ses kayıt cihazına kaydedildi. Görüşme yaklaşık 40-60 dakika sürdü. Aynı gün ses kayıtları yazıya döküldü. Derinlemesine görüşmeden elde edilen veriler ile temalar oluşturuldu ve sekiz tema belirlendi. Bulgular: Araştırmada, çocukların yaptığı açıklamalar doğrultusunda 8 tema ve 21 alt tema ortaya çıktı. Bu temalar; enürezisin nedeni, enürezisin duygusal sonuçları, enürezisle oluşan sıkıntılar, şiddet tanımı, şiddetin ortaya çıkması, şiddete başvurma durumları, şiddetin gerekliliği, şiddetle karşılaşıldığında hissedilenler olarak belirlendi. Sonuç: Çocuklar alt ıslatmanın, çok su içip çok yemek ve korkuya bağlı olduğunu, şiddetin ise hoş bir davranış olmadığını fakat bazen gerekli olduğunu belirttiler.

Objective: This study was planned to identify primary school students feelings and thoughts about enuresis and violence. Material and Method: This qualitative research was conducted using a phenomenological approach with the students of a primary school located in Uskudar, Istanbul between October 15, 2011 and February 20, 2012 using a population consisting of students from 1st grade to 8th grade (N=1350). Information related to students was collected via Personal Identification Form and Mental Adjustment Scale (MAS), which were developed by the researchers based on the relevant literature. Since the study was planned as qualitative research, the sample size was not calculated. The sample consisted of 64 students with enuresis of ages 7 and 12. The study was conducted with 9 students who volunteered to participate. Students were asked questions about enuresis and violence. Interviews were tape-recorded with the students consent. Interviews took on average 40 to 60 minutes. Records were transcribed verbatim on the same day. Themes were generated from the data obtained from the in-depth interviews and eight themes were identified. Results: Eight themes and 21 subthemes were identified based on students reports. These themes included the cause of enuresis, the feelings that enuresis created, the problems associated with enuresis, the definition of violence, the emergence of violence, the conditions leading to the use of violence, necessity of violence, the feelings experienced during violence exposure. Conclusion: Students stated that enuresis resulted from drinking excessive amounts of water and from fear and that violence is not a kind behavior but it is sometimes necessary.
