dc.description.abstractÖzetBu tez, 1960’lı yıllarda tekstilin ‘Lif Sanat’ı’ (Fiber Art) adıyla çağdaş sanatta yer edinme sürecini ve bu sürece etki ettiği düşünülen tüm hareketlenmeleri incelemektedir. Sanatçılar ve üretimleri örnek gösterilerek, lif sanatının tanımı, kapsamı ve oluşumuna dair geniş bir bakış sunulmaktadır. Çalışmanın temelini oluşturan lif sanatının kökenlerinin dayandığı düşünülen tapestrylerden bahsedildikten sonra, lif sanatının oluşum sürecine etkisi olduğu bilinen Arts and Crafts, Art Nouveau, Bauhaus Okulu, Bienal ve Sergiler gibi sanatsal etkinlikler ile dönemin sanatçıları ayrıntılı olarak incelenmiştir. Türkiye’de tekstilin sanata dönüşümü ayrı bir başlık altında ele alınmıştır. Literatür taraması sonucunda, lif sanatı ile tekstilin sanat nesnesi olarak kullanımının iç içe geçtiği yönünde bir izlenime varılmıştır. Bu nedenden dolayı, tezin son kısmında ‘tekstilin sanat nesnesi olarak kullanımı’ üzerinde ayrıca durulmuştur. Bu iki farklı alan arasındaki ayırt edici özellikler ortaya konmaya çalışılmıştır.
dc.description.abstractThis thesis examines the process of textile's integration into contemporary art under the name 'Fiber Art' in the 1960s and all the movements thought to influence this process. Through the examples of artists and their productions in the field, a comprehensive overview of the definition, scope, and formation of fiber art is presented.After briefly mentioning the tapestries, which are believed to be the origins upon which the foundation of fiber art is based, artistic activities known to influence the formation of fiber art, such as Arts and Crafts, Art Nouveau, Bauhaus School, Biennials, and Exhibitions, as well as artists of the era, will be examined in detail. The transformation of textile into art in Turkey will be addressed under a separate heading.From the literature review, it has been observed that fiber art and the use of textile as an art object are closely intertwined. Therefore, in the last part of the thesis, special attention will be paid to the 'use of textile as an art object'. Efforts will be made to highlight the distinctive features between these two different areas.
