Lise öğrencilerinin psikolojik durumlarının sosyodemografik özelliklerine göre incelenmesi

Abstract

Amaç: Bu çalışmada amaç, lise öğrencilerinin cinsiyet, sosyoekonomik düzey ve devam ettikleri sınıflarına göre psikolojik durumları arasındaki farklılıkları incelemektir. Yöntem: Araştırmaya, Ankara il merkezinde beş farklı ilçede yer alan beş resmi, iki özel liseden seçkisiz yöntemle seçilen 482 öğrenci katılmıştır. Çalışmaya katılan gençlere 11-18 yaş Gençler ‹çin Kendini Değerlendirme Ölçeği (YSR) ve araştırmacılar tarafından hazırlanan bilgi formu uygulanmıştır. Sonuçlar: Analizler sonucunda araştırma bulgularından bazıları şunlardır: 11-18 yaş Gençler için Kendini Deüerlendirme Ölçeüi, Sorun Davranışlar bölümünde; Somatik Sorunlar, Anksiyete-Depresyon, Suça Yönelik Davranışlar, içe Yönelim ve Toplam Problem'de cinsiyetler arası fark önemli bulunmuştur. Sosyoekonomik düzeye göre, suça yönelik davranışlar alt testinde üst sosyoekonomik düzey lise öğrencileri alt ve orta sosyoekonomik düzey lise öğrencilerine göre anlamlı olarak daha yüksek puan almışlardır. Gençlerin devam ettikleri sınıflarına göre, Sosyal içe Dönüklük, Suça Yönelik Davranışlar, içe Yönelim, Dışa Yönelim ve Toplam Problem'de sınıflar arası fark önemli bulunmuştur. Tartışma: Çalışmaya katılan lise öğrencilerinin cinsiyet, sosyoekonomik düzey ve sınıflarına göre ruhsal durumları arasında önemli farklar olduğu ve gençlerin bu sorunlarının irdelenmesi, tanılama ve sağaltım çalışmalarına önem verilmesi gerektiği görülmüştür.

Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the association between the students' psychological well being and the gender, socioeconomical status and the grades of the high school students. Method: 482 students from 5 state and 2 private high-schools participated into this study. The Youth Self Report 11-18 and the information form developed by the investigators were given to the students. Results: The boys and the girls had significantly different scores on the problem behaviors subunits of the Youth Self Report; somatic complaints, anxious-depressed, delinquent behavior, internalizing and the total problem scores revealed differences. It was also found that students from the families with high socioeconomical status had higher scores on delinquent behavior subunit than the students from lower socioeconomical status. Finally the analyses showed that the students from different grades had different scores for the social problems, internalizing, externalizing, delinquent behaviors and the total problems. Discussion: The results show that psychological well being of the students differs according to the gender, socioeconomical status and grades of students. The necessity to conduct such studies and the importance of finding solutions to the problems of students were discussed in the present study.
