Tarihsel ve toplumsal süreçte kadın

Abstract

Bu makalede kadının konumunun tarihsel süreç içinde nasıl değiştiği genel hatlarıyla ele alınmaktadır. Geleneksel tarih yazımı tarafından görünmez kılınan kadının tarihini ortaya çıkarıp, onun etkin bir tarihsel özne olduğunu gösterebilmek amacıyla toplumsal cinsiyet ve ataerki kavramları kullanılmıştır. Tarihsel olarak yaratılmış olan ataerki, toplumsal cinsiyet rollerini belirleyen, bir cins olarak kadının toplum içinde ezilmesi ve sömürülmesi sonucunu doğuran kurumsal ve kültürel düzenlemeleri ve uygulamaları içerir. Makalede ataerkinin tarihsel olarak aldığı biçimler ve bunların içinde yer aldığı toplumun ekonomik, kültürel, demografik koşullarıyla etkileşimi sonucu nasıl değişiklik gösterdiği üzerinde durulmaktadır.

This article analyses how women’s status has changed in the historical process. Women came to be made invisible by the traditional histography. In order to establish woman as an active historical subject this article uses the concepts of gender and patriarchy. Patriarchy is a historical creation that determines the gender roles. It is a system of institutional and cultural structures and practices that results with women’s subordination and exploitation. This article is an overview of different forms of patriarchy that is determined by the economic, cultural and demographic conditions of the society in which it is created.
