Abstract
Yabancı dil öğretiminde yeni araştırmalara yönelme eğiliminin ardından, 1920'lerden beri profesyonel ve işlevsel iletişim için özel talepleri olan kitleler ortaya çıkmıştır. Bu değişim, çok farklı hedefler, uygulamalar, eğitim sahaları ve yöntemleri ile tanımlanan "Özel Alan Fransızcası" adında yeni bir alanın ortaya çıkmasına olanak tanımıştır. Mevcut çalışma, bahsi geçen eğilimi göz önünde bulundurarak Özel Alan Fransızcasına yönelik öğretim metodunun yükseköğretim kurumlarında uygulanması sürecinde karşılaşılan aksaklıkların yanı sıra akademisyenlerin karşılaştığı zorlukların kaynağını da tespit etmeyi amaçlamaktadır. Bu hedef doğrultusunda, çalışma kapsamında farklı üniversitelerde Özel Alan Fransızcası eğitimi veren 15 akademisyenle görüşmeler yapılarak sahada karşılaşılan sorunların saptanması ve öneriler sunulması amaçlanmaktadır. Bu araştırma beş bölümden oluşmaktadır. İlk bölümde, çalışmamızın sorunsalına, amaçlarına, varsayımlarına ve sınırlılıklarına değinilmiştir. İkinci bölümde, Özel Alan Fransızcası'nın tarihçesinden bahsedilmiştir. Üçüncü bölümde, uygulama kısmını oluşturan 15 akademisyenle yapılan görüşmeler yer almaktadır. Dördüncü bölümde, uygulama kısmında elde ettiğimiz bulguların analizi ve saptanan sorunlara çözüm önerileri bulunmaktadır. Beşinci bölümde ise, çalışmanın konusunu destekleyen araştırmaların oluşturduğu bir tartışma ve sonuç bölümü yer almaktadır.--------------------Following the trend towards new research in teaching-learning techniques of foreignlanguages, audiences with specific demands for professional and functionalcommunication have emerged since the 1920s. This consideration gives rise to a new fieldentitled "French for Specific Purposes" that is defined by the wide variety of itsobjectives, practices, contexts, teaching areas and methods. In this field, academiciansneed to create specific methods that aim to provide their audiences with specific culturaland language skills. Taking this problem into consideration, the present study aims toidentify the gaps and obstacles to the implementation of FSP teaching method in highereducation institutions and the source of the difficulties experienced by academicians. Weseek to find solutions to the problems encountered in this area by making interviews with15 academicians who teach FSP at different universities.This study consists of five chapters. In the first chapter, we mention the general objectiveof the research. In the second chapter, we make a comprehensive literature review onFrench for Specific Purposes (FSP). The third chapter focuses on presenting the profileof the target audience and their opinions through the interviews with 15 academicians.The fourth chapter comprises the analysis of the findings that we have obtained in theapplication phase of the study and our solution offers for the problems which we havedetected. The fifth chapter includes the sections of discussion and conclusion elaboratingthe studies supporting the subject of our research.
