Abstract
İnsanların fiziksel ve sosyal gereksinimlerini karşılayan eşyalar olanmobilyalar, zaman içerisinde malzeme ve üretim teknolojileri paralelinde değişim vegelişim göstermiştir. Tarihsel süreçte bulunduğu toplumların sosyal yaşam koşullarıiçerisinde değişen ihtiyaçlar ve ölçüler doğrultusunda evrilen sandalye tasarımları,tasarımcısının düşüncesiyle malzeme ve üretim teknolojilerinin yakın ilişkisi içerisindegelişimini sürdürmeye devam etmiştir. Günümüzde gelinen noktada bir oturma mobilyasıolan sandalyeler, tasarımcının yeniyi arama serüveni içerisinde yapay zekanın datasarım sürecine katıldığı, yenilikçi malzeme ve üretim teknolojilerinin kullanıldığıtasarımlar olarak üretilmektedirler. Yapay zekanın tasarım sürecine katıldığı “üretkentasarım” olarak adlandırılan bu tasarım yönteminde, malzeme ve üretim teknolojilerininkatkıları merak konusudur.Giriş bölümünde, çalışmanın kapsam ve amaçlarının açıklandığı bu çalışmada;ikinci bölümde, mobilya kavramı ve mobilya tasarımında sürece değinilmiş ve tarihselsüreç içerisinde bir oturma mobilyası olarak sandalye tasarımları ele alınmıştır.Üçünde bölümde, çalışma kapsamı içerisinde 1900 ve sonrası yıllarda yaşanılangelişmelerin tasarıma etkileri sosyokültürel, savaş-teknoloji ilişkisi, malzemede ve üretimteknolojilerinde yaşanılan gelişmeler doğrultusunda dört farklı başlık üzerindenirdelenmiştir.Dördüncü bölümünde, çalışmanın yöntemi açıklanarak insanın ilk kez yapayzekadan faydalanılarak tasarladığı, yapay zeka-insan ortak tasarımı, A.I. sandalyesinde(2019, Philippe Stark & Autodesk) kullanılan bilgisayar programı olan Autodesk Fusion360 ile günümüzde tasarımda gelinen noktada malzeme ve üretim teknolojilerininkatkısının irdelenmiş; bu çalışmadan elde edilen bulgular tablolar ile açıklanmayaçalışılmıştır.Sonuç bölümünde, günümüzde tasarımda gelinen noktada malzeme ve üretimteknolojilerinin tasarıma katkısına değinilmiş ve mobilya tasarımının geleceği ile ilgiliöngörülerde bulunulmuştur.--------------------Furniture, which meets the physical and social needs of people, has evolved overtime in parallel with materials and production technologies. Chair designs, which havebeen evolving in line with changing needs and measures within the social life conditionsof societies in the historical process, continued to develop in close relationship with thethought of the designer and the materials and production technologies. Chairs, as aseating furniture, are produced as designs where innovative design and productiontechnologies are used, in which the artificial intelligence is also involved in the designprocess in the adventure of searching for the new. In this design method, which is called“generative design” in which artificial intelligence participates in the design process, thecontributions of materials and production technologies are a matter of curiosity.In this study, the scope and objectives of the study are explained in theintroduction section; in the second chapter, the concept of furniture and furniture designis mentioned and chair designs as a seating furniture are discussed in the historicalprocess.In the third chapter, the effects of the developments experienced in the scope ofthe study in the years 1900 and afterwards have been examined over four different topicsin line with the sociocultural, war-technology relationship, developments in the materialand production technologies.In the fourth chapter, the method of the study explained. A.I. chair (2019,Philippe Stark & Autodesk) which was designed by collaboration of human and artificialintelligence for the first time using Autodesk Fusion 360 program, the contribution ofmaterials and production technologies to the point reached in the design today has beenexamined; and the findings obtained from this study are explained with tables.In the conclusion section, the contribution of materials and productiontechnologies to design has been mentioned at the point reached and predictions about thefuture of furniture design have been made.
